Postal is rubbish. However, I expect a lot better work from Rockstar.

I don't see how this is any more violent than some of the recent horror flicks though.

I don't get it. Music and movies contain much more graphic content than video games. Yet, nobody gives a f***. When a game shows something that is the equivalent to Katamari Damacy compared to, for example, Riki-Oh, politicians, Jack Thompson, anybody in a high-power position over us flip their lids. Why?

Absolutely agree with you! Just watch the new any time anywhere in the world and all you see are deaths, violence, wars,etc. And also it happens in the cinemas, What kind of wicked mind pays and enjoys watching movies like HostelI/II where they only show people being tortured to death.

It's so stupid that mass media it's so obsessed with computer games. Manhut 2 might be violent but there are hundreds of violent games out there that haven't been banned at all (example: Any WWII shooters, you don't kill Nazis, you kill people!). Well... in conclusion: stupid decision.

It's not like the BBFC to ban things these days, and I can't help but think it's largely due to the controversy over the killing of the 14-year-old boy when the first game came out (even though just about everyone involved in the case strongly emphasised that the game had no influence whatsoever). But in reality, all it means is that I want to play it even more.

Oh, and Riki-Oh is one of the most awesome movies I've ever seen in my life

yeah batting some dudes head off with a spade, then whacking it down the road got old like half way thru.

i remember on postal two demo i basically gave up when i got into this quicky mart toget milk or something because the game just sucked....the shop keep had like a M16 or something and terrible AI

They also used some images of cctc footage from the jamie bulger incident which is quite ooo. Usually I cant stand all this blame games crap but manhunt is pretty vile, It just seems like a game made to cause controversy.

It hasn't been banned, they've refused to give it a rating, so it can't be sold.

I wouldn't count on it standing; the only other game this happened to was rated on an appeal (Carmageddon), and Rockstar have far too much money riding on a major release like this to let it go.

Well, this kind of thing gives the game publicity. Rockstar just called the game "a work of fine art" so they are really taking advantage of the situation and stirring up the controversy to get more attention.
