Just saw it, OH MY GOD! What an awesome movie.

The Joker was awesome, Batman badass as usually, and Two-Face scary as hell.

I saw it in a regular theater, and felt like I was missing a lot. I'll see if I can go to an IMAX screening.

This movie is epic, I'm so happy that I've had the opportunity to experience this movie. Go see it everyone, nothing else to say.

Saw it again in Imax this week.

Was in Long Island where the screen is vey much rounded.
The Imax shots are H U G E (!!) but some of my friends missed it as they didn't notice the image going bigger when it did. I wouldn't be able to tell you which scene is the first in Imax as I was expecting a normal 16:9 projection throughout so I could have not noticed it the first time it went 'full screen' on us.

I did notice this:
For the wide pan shots, the images look good and you actually have to move your head to look at everything.
For the close ups however (Imax or not), the image is too distorted to be beautiful.

So since I saw it twice, my advice is this:
You're better off finding a regular theater with big screens (as opposed to say a multiplex) than an Imax theater with a much rounded screen like the one in Uniondale, Long Island (the one in Québec isn't so much).

But the movie is good anyway and the Joker is very, very cool. Not only well played but his part well written too. images/smilies/smile.gif

^ The first scene is the first in IMAX. I saw it twice at the IMAX, and now I'm really conflicted about the technology...

I see that finally The Godfather is higher than TDK on imdb, both have a 9.1. I'm glad, since TDK is a very good movie, but simply no stuff for zomg-best-movie-of-all-times.

i loved it, although i rented Begins on itunes after seeing it and parts of it made a whole lotta more sense images/smilies/smile.gif

It was a bit odd seeing Bale as the only other movie ive seen him in is Empire of the sun (when he was like twelve)

I watched it in IMAX first, and then a week later on the regular screen. It was great both times, but IMAX was a better experience when you factor in the sound quality as well.

finally was able to see it on wednesday. Absolutly amazing film, wish had an IMAX screen near to see it on. Ledger was incredible as the Joker, really hope he gets at least nominated for an Oscar. Was so impressed with the movie and wanted to see the Joker again that i went to see it again on saturday and it was just as enjoyable if not more so the second time.

"My whole thing is that I saw 'The Dark Knight'. I feel like I'm dumb because I feel like I don't get how many things that are so smart. It's like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I'm like, 'That's not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.' I loved 'The Prestige' but didn't understand 'The Dark Knight'. Didn't get it, still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I'm like, 'I get it. This is so high brow and so [expletive] smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.' You know what? [Expletive] DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from."
Jealous much? I loved Iron Man...but let's face it, it was a pretty dumb-action movie.

Finally got off my lazy a** and went to the cinema to watch the movie.

And what I blew on the ticket were indeed money well-spent. It was fantastic.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

I've always hated that guy, he is the shining example of how being famous gets you treated different than the "average person".

He got caught with coke, heroin, and a gun. Than a month later he broke into a neighbors house and passed out in their bed, he failed to show up for 2 mandatory drug tests, he got caught with coke and valium making a scene at a hotel on thanksgiving and was found on coke wandering the streets barefoot.

But since he got his actor get out of fail free card he only served a total of 1 year and 4 months (both for skipping required drug tests) so for getting caught with coke (twice), heroin, a gun, valium, and being found to be under the influence of illegal drugs 4 times he got nothing more than probation. images/smilies/blink.gif

Finally watched it yesterday, it only opened last week because in Germany the start date elsewhere would have conflicted with Narnia 2. Can you believe that?
Anyway, it was in its original language which you won't get in most Cities in a really big cinema (Regensburg has tons of American exchange students) and they showed it in their biggest room. If you sit where I sat, the picture is just as wide as your own field of view, so presentation was perfect, IMHO.

The movie itself? Awesome. Not the best movie ever, maybe not Top3 as IMDB suggests, but close for sure. Too bad Ledger died, he'd been one of the best Actors in this half of the Century...
