| Hedgehog Sandwich | i've doing a dangerous thing... thinking. IMO, some games could do with improvements. just some things that would make it better. i'll start with Gears Of War. i have had this for about 2 months now, and one of my mates has just bought it too. we both agree that there are some things that would make it 10x better. for a start, we would like to see some moody lighting, if you get my idea. Gears doesn't really use darkness much, and i think this would really add effect to the game. like the Imulsion factory mission, when the lights are 'off'. it's actually not much darker than when they are on. kinda dissapointing. it should be pitch black in places, with just the glow of the green switches and the wretches. maybe a map oculd guide you or something. just look at the way FEAR uses darkness: ![]() just my opinion also, i think enemies should be more surprising. hearing a bunch of wretches before they charge around a corner might be helpful, but it does nothing for the atmosphere of the game. any other game improvements you have ideas for, post em here. you never know when the developers are watching... |

| .sa = bad driver! | I would like to see graphics shift away from photo-realism and move towards more stylistic designs. Thankfully, it seems there are plenty of games headed in this direction. ![]() I'd also like to see more games that take advantage of the fact that they don't have to follow the laws of physics. Video games have unlimited potential, so I want to see more of them that look like this: ![]()

| Yeah! Take God Of War, that game needs...needs...more people to buy it. | |

| EA Games needs to stop making expansion packs for every single game and give people advantages... (in general...)

It was an "Alone in the Dark" style of game where you woke up on a deserted planet after being transformed into some sort of cyborg. ![]() One cool thing was the fight engine, which was actually pretty awkward. But you could literally get 3 minutes of enjoyment by killing someone by repeatedly kicking them in the arse.

No ideas what it would be like, but just different from the ones out there now. I'd love to see more adventure games. I'd love to see the space sim make a comeback. I'd love to play Wing Commander again. |

What games in general really need are some new genres. The last new genre revolution was exactly when? Must have been a while ago since I can't even remember. All new games have such a strong "done this, done that only with worse textures" vibe to them. I'm tired of all the games "new" features being better textures etc. Surprise me game designers. I'm sick of all those Game XYZ Part XII announcements. P.S. Little Big Planet seems to be interesting. |

| I want some more interesting ammo effects, like how enemies sometimes explode into a mist of blood and bone in FEAR. Maybe something like a simulated mixed-metal bullet, with someone having their torso blown off. That would be awesome on a fast compy.

| I want a game that has the smooth movement and urban warfare of BF2, but gun accuracy like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. GRAW is amazing for realism, but it just seems like you walk at a snail's pace. BF2 is good in that respect (not overly fast paced, not too slow either, plus you can get out of breath, which is a nice touch), but the guns are too inaccurate due to lame bullet spread that makes it frustrating at times ![]() Rainbow Six Vegas is a good medium, but I wish you could go prone and sprint. The cover system is nice, but could use some improvement. Counterstike: Source is ok, but it lacks iron sights (using crosshairs all the time is lame for realism) and it needs the ability to go prone, plus the movement feels too arcade-ish since you seem to be sprinting at all times.....and the graphics are outdated. So there needs to be a good urban first person shooter that doesn't have these drawbacks. Maybe GRAW 2 will be good.....

| Wow, I just installed the latest Project Reality mod for BF2 and it's amazing. The guns are very accurate and powerful, plus the vehicles have improved damage models. For instance, when you rocket a tank, you can destroy the turret or a track, which means you can immobilize it with out completely blowing it up. The accurate and properly powered guns really take away the frustration of having your sights on a guy and unloading a million bullets into his head and he turns and wastes you instantly. Also, no more taking an armor piercing M95 shell to the chest and walking away. Now it's much more realistic, which means taking cover and teamplay are essential if you don't want to die all the time. There's a lot more grass, foilage, etc., and it doesn't disappear at a distance. Much, much more realistic all around. This makes the game really what it should be Here's a promo video for it, all in-game footage:
It really turns the game into realistic combat as opposed to the Arcadey standard BF2 that EA has watered down. Here's where to get it if you're interested: http://www.realitymod.com/
