Contrary to what some might assume from recent threads, I love all music. Rap is the majority of my library but I want to equal it with rock.

I like metal and industrial rock. I also like the oldies metal like:

Hellraiser - Ozzy
Welcome to the Jungle - GNR
Cult of Personality - Living Colour

I have a lot of disturbed and some breaking benjamin. I have some songs by Mastadon and I have the entire Cowboys from Hell (Pantera album).

I wanted to know what you guys think about Metallica or Jimi Hendrix. Should I get songs from those? If so which ones? Any other recommendations? Thanks a lot guys. If you need some good rap music lemme know

Metallica: "And Justice For All" and prior only.

Hendrix? Pick up that gold-colored "Greatest Hits" and you'll be fine. If that trips your fancy, then go ahead and pick up everything you can get your grubby mitts on.

Get the last couple albums from Gravity Kills, if you like industrial...if you want something a bit less known, go for 16volt's "supercoolnothing" album.

Nightwish's latest album has leaked, and is pretty average. Poet and Pendulum is the best song by miles.

Also, was interested to learn that Jari Liimatainen has been sacked from Sonata Arctica and replaced by Elias Viljansen. Unia was terrible by their standards so they can only improve.

Iced Earth's new album is also available, which makes me a happy man

I just ordered an album by 7 Hurts. I decided to buy it based on a twelve second clip of one of their songs that was featured in an episode of Top Gear.

Hope it gets here soon! But it could take up to eight weeks.

Bought the newest CD of Explosions in the Sky, "all of a sudden I miss everyone" lately. Been listening to it since, and it's fantastic. Second half of the CD is'nt that special, but "The birth and death of the day" and "it's natural to be afraid" are two of their latest gems.
People who don't know it and like the concept of insturumental music with rock instruments should check it out. It's very powerful music with a lot of contrast and feeling.

I have been listening to all soundtracks and ambient tracks from the first three MYST games...some of the music is rather creepy at night.

Right now, in my car, I have the first two albums from VAST "Visual Audio Sensory Theater" and "Music for People" as well as Celldweller's 1st album, and a Cream best-of.
