| Dispenses buckshot medication for all undead patients. | A week ago I went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" show. I saw the show last year as well and it was just as cool this year. They have upped the production a bit, changed a few arrangements and still get up on stage and rock their faces off. If you have not seen a TSO show you are missing out. I have been to dozens of Christmas concerts over the years including The Manheim Steamroller, and none are even close to TSO, even if you are not that big into Christmas (and I'm know for being a Scrooge most of the season) it's still a kick ass show. I get sick of the same Christmas drivel every year, some second rate lounge act doing a third rate arrangement of "Jingle Bells" or some pop-starlet waif wailing out "Santa Baby." TSO bases most of their arrangements on classic Christmas pieces but with a rock twist and turned up to 11... with fireballs. A few of the better YouTubules.
This one is from an older tour, the production has gone WAY up since these days.
From the 2003 tour: Christmas Eve in Sarajevo
The Ornament - one of the many show-stoppers
This Christmas Day - one of my all-time favorites and a show-stopper
You really have to see the show live to appreciate the depth of storytelling they do. Even the albums don't capture it. I really wish they would release Christmas Eve and Other Stories as a DVD. Next up: Blue Man Group in February. I have my tickets in-hand.

Blue Man Group featuring Venus Hum - "I Feel Love" from the "Complex" tour.
How about a Blue Man cover of The Who?
The best Blue Man Group moment for me: Page[/url]
It probably helps to be a Psychologist to get the depth of that one.

| Previously Known As SLR 722 | So.. what the hell do the blue man group do? Are they a percussion act that plays through pipes that are connected to tubing? I must say the who cover was quite good once the tempo picked up a little. ![]()

| Dispenses buckshot medication for all undead patients. | The Blue Men are a percussion act with backing band. They designed and built their own instruments using a variety of materials but mostly plastic PVC pipe. The music is only part of the show, one can simply sit back and enjoy the experience or you can look for all the interesting but subtle commentary on human behavior. If you have NetFlix I recommend you get The Complex DVD, and even that is nothing compared to the live show. You really have to be there in person to get the fully experience.

| Previously known as ssnapier | I have seen TSO a few times, and I always love when people give me that "what the hell is that" look when I tell them about it. The best part is watching realize just how cool it is and then wondering how they never knew about it before. I have never seen BMG, but I really want to. Perhaps when I get back to the USA, that will be part of my vacation.

I love the fact that most of those guys either marched in or had something to do with DCI too. If you do not know what DCI is... sucks to be you!
