Yeah, I didn't get this (saw it in French).

Bearing in mind between WALL-E and EVE the only words they spoke were "mission", "plante", "EVE" and "WALL-E", it was fairly bizarre.

Does everyone forget the whole section on the ship? That was quite a bit of dialogue, but yeah I guess changing the robots voices for other languages is pretty weird...

It is the bit on the ship that many reviews said wasn't as good as the beginning.

I liked it, but I agree it wasn't quite as brilliant as the first half.

I was just curious what would have happened if pixar went with an entirely-no-dialogue (beyond 'plante', 'eve' etc) film...

well there was dialogue but IIRC only by humans (and Auto, he talks quite a lot)
the robots seem to communicate by signs or simple words.

The best part about Wall-Es voice was that it was all mechanical. Why would they choose to use humans. Stupid other countries

Wall-e's voice was actually the massively-processed voice of Ben Burtt, who did the same thing for R2-D2. But yeah, re-dubbing is idiotic.

What's even more idiotic, is that the re-dubbed voices had the same massive post processing, so you can't really tell who it is anyway...

besides, Wall-E has 4 or so words throughout the whole movie...what a job for the voice actors images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

A bit of originality in the design? Or maybe Ally Sheedy?

Seriously, WALL-E just looks like a small form factor version of Number 5. You'd think that Pixar would have put a bit more thought into what WALL-E should look like rather than ripping off an 80s robot cliche ... images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Such a good movie. I've seen it twice already. images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
So deep, yet so subtle.

*bump*

anyone try the game yet?

I have, and I really really like it. It's much more challenging, and much less of a "kiddie" game than I thought

My review is quite the opposite. Bad, simple and a total "kiddie" game.

I just watched the movie and liked it, though it wasn't quite as good as I expected it to be.
