			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>These are the tires I have on the XTerra and they have done thousands of miles of off road driving at low tire pressure, sometimes crawling, sometimes at near-highway speed.  I noticed some very minor cracking around the tread lugs before going to Moab a couple weeks ago, but today I noticed some more serious cracking around the tire's shoulders.  I've never had this happen before, honestly I've always destroyed tires before this happened.<br />

So, is this just surface damage or do I need new rubber?<br />

One of these goes about half way around the tire.  These are not your typical car tire, they have a 10-ply tread and a 3-ply sidewall, more than double a typical P-rated tire.  These are LT-rated with an E load range rating - much more than the X can dish out, but I run as low as 12 PSI over seriously hardcore terrain.</div>

I understand I will get the most storage space per dollar with a conventional disk drive but that isn't entirely what I am concerned about. I'm looking to get an exceptionally fast boot drive and see that a <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136929&amp;SortField=0&amp;SummaryType=0&amp;PageSize=10&amp;SelectedRating=-1&amp;VideoOnlyMark=False&amp;IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo" target="_blank">Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLHX</a> is in my price range of around $150 but with reviews saying it only shows its speed in a RAID configuration I tend to lean right back to an SDD, but have no clue of what I should be looking for in one.<br />

I have SATA 6GB/s connections on my motherboard, I'm a brand whore for WD drives, and would like to get a drive with atleast 80GB, looking for a fast drive without using any multidrive setups. When I look at drives using my list of priorities I come out seeing both types neck and neck. I will spend up to $160. Any guidence?</div>

My denim jacket, circa 1986. Yes, the original Hysteria back patch was added in 1987. Other patches have come and gone, but that one remains. I wore the jacket everywhere. If it could talk, I would have to shoot it lest it spill secrets to my parents. It's still in the cupboard, still fits (mostly), and occasionally gets worn around the house when I'm feeling sentimental or am rather drunk with my girlfriends who also dig theirs out, the stereo cranked, the hair teased, and the hair brushes pressed into service as microphones.</div>

Found these here in the small town of Asbury for a decent price. Both are 2000 models. The white one needs a front seal in the transmission, some minor cosmetic stuff and a few things on the engine fixed. The tan one is a little rougher, inside and out, but with a battery started right up and drove home.<br />
<br />
I'm hoping to get both into good shape and sell them or drive them. Who knows what I may do...<br />

As the title says, my Fezza is playing up a little : (. I start it up, reverse it out, drive a bit and then stop. I then go to drive off, and it starts jumping like crazy- goes from no acceleration to a ton, then to none, then goes off like a rocket at 4,000 rpm. As it often happens turning out of a T intersection, it is not an ideal time for it to occur. <br />
<br />
Any ideas on what is happening? Seems to happen when engine is cold, and outside temp is chilly too. Not sure about other times, but today I didn't have much fuel left. The engine is the 1.6 Duratech paired with a manual. <br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I have identified several options that can be implemented to achieve additional speed/horsepower and performance to my 2012 2SS V8 Camaro but I am looking for some seasoned veterans, experienced in performing such customizations, to help verify what I have found and also answer some questions and share some resources.<br />

So currently I seem to be getting bored with the horse power of my Camaro, so I decided to start investigating the most reputable options/products/services for beefing up the performance. I regrettably did buy the car with an automatic transmission and that could be why I just do not feel the power of the V8 like I should.. or perhaps I am just getting annoyed when i see people that own standard transmissions smoking up their tires right next to me. I am currently not racing the car - although I am interested in learning more about racing at some point in the future, but currently I am just using the camaro as my 'every-day-ride' while having some fun in the process. <br />
<br />
So below are some of the options (along with my comments &amp; questions) I have so far: <br />
<br />
1) Regarding adding a Turbo System: <br />
a) Does anyone reccomend adding a Turbo System to their Camaro and if so, could you provide me with some reputable resources websites/services &amp; Turbo brands that are the best? (So far I have found ststurbo.com, but I have not spoken to anyone that has used them either for reference). <br />
b) Single Vs Twin Turbo and Remote Vs Bolt-On.... What turbo system would you recommend?: I see both single and twin turbo systems out there as well as remote vs bolt on.  The remote, twin turbo seemed like it may be an ok option for someone like me that is using the vehicle as an 'every-day'car' but I am not sure what the main pros/cons are in comparison to bolt-on systems? <br />
c) Legality or Policy Issues?: Will the Turbo system result in an illegal rate of emissions for my state? I live in Mass and just wanted to make sure I may not screw myself with the stupid Massachusetts laws and restrictions they have here..  Are they any other legal issues or complications that may come from adding a turbo system?  I ask because I believe I heard something about adding NOS to a vehicle was not legal in certain cases…  but I am new to this stuff so you guys may know better.<br />
d) Voiding of Mfr Vehicle Warranty?: I just purchased my camaro about 6 months ago from the Chevy dealer and one of the mechanics said to be careful about doing things to the engine(such as using a tuner to adjust engine for more horsepower, etc) because it may void the warranty. Do you typically see a lot of problems with regard to customers voiding warranties after installing turbo systems? I would imagine it must be real difficult to hide a turbo system when getting the usual service done at the dealer ;).  Any tips or advice?<br />
<br />
2) Regarding Engine Tuners?: I was also planning on purchasing an engine tuner/chip, as I really like what I am reading about the benefits of using a tuner to remove speed limitors, increase horsepower, and some even provide extra diagnostic and testing features.  My questions are as follows:<br />
a) What is the best, most reputable and trustworthy Tuner/chip product/system used by most folks with my car? If I am going to allow some device to reconfigure my $45,000 Camaro's computer system I first want to make sure I use the most reputable, trustworthy tuner service/product, as to also avoid any expensive mistakes/mishaps. I found hyperTech (<a href="http://www.hypertech.com/products-max-energy.aspx" target="_blank">www.hypertech.com/products-max-energy.aspx</a> ), but I am not exactly sure how good they are if there is better. I do not mind spending extra $$ for the convenience of being able to tune the engine myself whenever i want(and not having to pay some service for each tune-job.. if possible). I also have a computer laptop and looked around a bit for a software-only solution but have not found anything really reputable that i could trust(for ex: just some free-ware code that i am leery on), So again, I do not mind spending alot of $$ to get something that works great and even has extra features is cool too. <br />
b) Will Tuning Void my Camaro's Mfr Vehicle Warranty?:  As I mentioned above, I am concerned if I tune my car myself that I may void my Mfr Warranty, has anyone had any experience with this issue?? <br />
c) Is there any potential i could damage my vehicle using a Tuner? Any Stories?<br />
<br />
3) New Exhaust?:  <br />
a) I heard that adding new exhaust kits could also help performance...  is this true? <br />
b) Does a new exhaust get added when adding a new Turbo System anyway? So do most folks just choose one or the other?<br />
c) Anyone know of some excellent and reputable exhaust packages that have been used for 2012 Camaro 2SS?<br />
<br />
4) What else am I missing for increased speed/performance/horsepower?....  <br />
- NOTE: I did not include NOS as I figured that would be too difficult to maintain for an every-day-car.. which is why i opted to investigate the Turbo option instead, but i could be wrong so please feel free to chime in on this issue as well.<br />

Anyways, I was going to get a custom t-shirt printed, but I went to the shop today and the design they previously had was no longer available. I was hoping one of you guys could give it a shot - oh, and I need it done by tomorrow morning my time... :lol:<br />
<br />
I know, I know... it's probably not going to happen, but I thought maybe finalgear could pull out some of it's magic.<br />
<br />
Anywho... the design I was thinking of is a 1972 Trans Am bursting through colours and flowers and stuff.  Sort of like the artwork for the Dazed and Confused movie.... I'll provide some sample images.<br />

It's out of date obviously so I did some research on finding a more current disc. $200 from GM. So, I did some googling and someone had posted a torrent claiming to work as well many search results stating a burned copy would work. So, I tried it(why not? if it doesn't work then, whatever..) and the radio accepted the disc and began the update, then, afterwards I got a message in some Asian language and then in English saying : Set original CD ROM.&quot;<br />

Is there a way to burn a disc as a &quot;ROM&quot; instead of DVDR?<br />
<br />
I mean, sure, I could've gotten the wrong version but, has anyone on here tried this with success? I mean, for $200 I could buy a Garmin and have lifetime free updates...</div>

The whole weekend with BMW club stuff; Building the stand on Friday (even got to drive most of our 4 wheelers :mrgreen: [few meters front and back putting them in to place but still]), track day 70km away on Saturday and at the stand / meeting up and wandering around the show with Lastsoul, mikas and MXM on Sunday. It's a shame I only had one day to explore the show, I really could use both two days there. :) <br />
<br />
I forgot to take photos of our own stand so a fellow club member to the rescue. Theme of the year was lost brands so I think our stand was fit for that with 2 BMWs, 2 EMWs and a Glas.<br />

On my way to work I have to get off the motorway at a junction, there is always a queue, but most people wait patiently in line to get on the slip road.<br />
<br />
My problem is that there is always a group of special people who need to get on the slip road faster than everyone else, so what they do is drive past the queue then try to push in at the last minute, stopping in the adjacent lane until someone lets them in.<br />
<br />
This, predictably causes  apoplexy in the cars arriving behind him, often at some speed. I've seen a semi trailer lock up all wheels on the trailer to avoid a Megane that was trying this on a few weeks ago.<br />
<br />
So I'd like to propose a camera, this should take fotos of the people who try this and fine them for dangerous driving. <br />

A little back story:<br />
Ever since I was about 12, reading about the Easter Jeep Safari in various offroad magazines, I had wanted to visit Moab, Utah, one of the outdoor meccas of the western US.  One of my dad's coworkers who had been riding dirt bikes in moab for the last 30 years or so had invited us to come along this year.  When I heard, I could not wait until the end of April when we would go.  This was in January, in the dead of winter, so not only did this future trip represent more fun than I could imagine, it also meant warm weather.  Day dreams about it helped the winter go away and soon it was time, so I loaded up my trusty F150 and drove the 1000 miles from ND to Moab.<br />

Since I don't current own a dedicated dirt machine and neither does my dad, we rented some from a local company.  I got a Yamaha WR250F and my dad got a Honda Rancher 4x4 420 with power steering.<br />

<b>Day 1</b><br />

We headed up Potash Road, past the Potash Evaporation pools (which you will see in later pics).  It was my first time on a proper dirt bike, and compared to say, a 1976 Goldwing, things are a little different.  For starters it weighs about 2 oz and has tires with actual traction on loose surfaces, both being totally new concepts to me.  After about an hour I was starting to get the hang of it as we pulled over for a break under a lone cottonwood tree.<br />

We continued on and stopped on the canyon rim overlooking the Colorado.<br />

On the way back to the trucks, I was starting to get confident on the WR, which is always dangerous as a new dirt rider.  I was hauling ass down the road along the Potash evap pool, showing about 40mph on the speedo when I came over a little rise to see a sharp 90 degree corner about 20 feet in front of me.  I stomped on the rear brake, locked the rear and slid the bike around the corner with the back tire locked right on the edge of the road.  I later found out my little onboard speedo/odo was not working properly.  We had done a 30 mile trail which my odo showed as 16, meaning it was showing almost 50% of the proper speed, meaning I went into that corner at about 70mph. :blink:<br />
<br />
After running Potash road (where I failed to operate my GoPro correctly, so no videos), we headed back into town for lunch.  After lunch we went out Kane Creek road and went up over Hurrah Pass.<br />
<br />
The views from the top were quite breathtaking.  The bright blue pools are the Potash pools as mentioned above.<br />

As we descended down the other side of the pass, I started to notice a few shortcomings of my little rented WR.  The main one was that seat could not have been less comfortable if they had tried.  Now I know that dirt bike seat is going to be narrow and thin, but this was like sitting on a 2x4, on rough ground, for several hours, it was pretty brutal, which will lead to a mod I will talk about in a bit.  Down in the valley floor, I was following our group leader and he went up this rocky hill to stop.  Well, anything he can do, I can do, so I tried the same line.  I got on the power, started climbing, bounced off a rock right onto my side.  Oops, well, got that first dirtbike drop out of the way.  Both I and the bike were fine, but it was a nice reality check.  Anyways, from that rock pile, we all decided it was indeed beer:30 and time to head back and have some drinks and hit the hot tub, so we rode back to the trucks and called it a day.<br />
<br />
<b>Day 2<br />
</b><br />
Having become totally fed up with the horrible seat on my WR, I decided to do some Red Green show style engineering to fix it.<br />

Yes, that is a 3.99 beach towel from the grocery store duct taped to the seat and it worked wonders.  <br />

The trail picked for Day 2 was the Onion Creek Trail, up to Kokopelli and ending up on Polar Mesa up on the La Sal Mountains.<br />

This was without a doubt my favorite ride of the 3 days we rode.  The pictures don't do justice just how awesome it was.  I will have to come back and do it again soon.<br />

It really was a truly excellent day riding.<br />

<b>Day 3</b><br />

After the epicness of Day 2, Day 3 would have to be spectacular, and it was.<br />
<br />
I had been wanting to have a go a riding in proper sand after encountering little patches on the trails over the last 2 days.  We had been told about a dune area south of town, so we headed down there.<br />

Well, that went well.<br />

Actually, it didn't go down quite so easily, as you will see below in the Day 3 Part 1 video, I actually proceed to head into the dunes, and bury my back wheel to the sprocket because I stopped.  After dragging the front of the bike around and walking it out of the hole, I had another go and managed to keep it up on the sand.  The pictures above were right before we left the dunes after I had gotten it mostly figured out.<br />

Though it was early in the day, we headed over to this huge rock for lunch because it was the only shade on the trail and it had some trees and the like growing around it.<br />

After lunch we headed farther down the trail.  The destination was an overlook over the Canyon in which the Kane Creek Canyon trail runs.  However, we took a wrong turn and ended up on a dead end trail, inside about 100 yards of deeply rutted nearly bottomless sand.  I had taken my sand school on the dunes that morning so I wasn't really minding, but that was not a shared feeling among the others.  When we started down that trail, I was the 3rd person in the group, with the group leader and the fast guy in front of me.  I was bombing through the sand, keeping my revs up and just floating all over the place when I see the fast guy go off the road into the weeds, but keep riding.  As I was coming up he started to head back to the road.  I hit the throttle and missed him by maybe a foot as I came by still floating all over the place on the sand.  About 50 feet later the same thing happened with the trail leader.  He may claim that I burned his arm with my exhaust, but that is an exaggeration.  It was more like a slight singe. :P  Either way, both were a little close for comfort and we had to go back through it.<br />

I was the first one back out and that road was responsible for my second drop of the trip, which I caught on video this time.  <br />

After riding out for a while, I picked a random spot to stop and wait for the others and it just so happened to be the fork in the road where we had gone wrong.  We then headed down the correct road and came to the overlook where we were rewarded with this view.<br />

The tools I had were some remote ruralroads around my place of upbringing, the depth of night and a Citroen C3.<br />
This car was the runabout of my aunt which passed away recently, cancer might be damned. Before that car she had a Mazda 323C.<br />
The car I wished her was a Maserati Coupe, but she never saw the point.<br />

So she went with the Citroen instead.<br />

A lot of rural roads, if you dare to use them, framed by some national roads winding up and down the waters of the countryside. All in all it could be driving heaven if there weren't all the small villages and cottages demanding restrained pace and overall awareness. Animalcrossing seems to be an issue, but I was spared of that or at least managed to avoid it. Some deer crossed my path but I could avoid it without making headlines in the local newspapers. (Yes Ice crossed my mind, but I hope he doesn't read this)<br />
<br />
So the car.<br />
<br />
It is a 2009 Citroen C3, the last before the DS styling kicked in.<br />
It has a 1.4 Diesel with 68 HP and some torque. It isn't powerful, but enough to overtake if you want to.<br />
The ride isn't as smooth as a I expected, but I had the old DS in mind which I didn't even drive btw.<br />
Center of gravity seems a bit high and the steering is vague, but with that in mind it could be a worthy successor of the 2CV.<br />

I am a bit new to the concept of keeping a turbocharged engine. The ones I drove before didn't have such an emotional connection, that I cared about their well being.<br />
The Transit was my first RWD and it was always exciting to hear the whine of the turbine, and the AUDI felt so refined, yet fell apart.<br />
Last night I tried to find the spot where the noise of the turbo wasn't drowned by the rattle of the engine. Maybe I heard it, but I'm not sure. It should be between 1.6 and 2.2 krpm, but only hills animate me to rev that high.<br />
<br />
I cheated with the consumption btw. I filled up in Waldbröl. From there it is almost exclusively downhill.<br />
<br />
PS: with the CItroen as a daily I might make a thread about my bike and the necessary maintainance. Heck, it could need some work.<br />

'97 328is, Avus Blue, damn-near spotless gray leather interior (previous owner was the upholstery guy we use at work), slushbox, sunroof, 148k miles on the clock, climate control, cruise, CD changer, alarm, etc.  <br />
<br />
Picked it up for $750 because it runs rough.  May be a stuck injector, may be that the PO's son cooked the engine and blew the headgasket.  PO declined any further diagnostic since it wasn't a &quot;cheap fix&quot; and it's been sitting at the shop ever since.  Regardless, it should make a solid little daily driver that should get significantly better gas mileage than my Bullitt.<br />

			For drivers who don't want to commit to a new car purchase, leasing has become a popular option. But for a police department in a city with a struggling economy, running up a $65,000 bill for what amounts to renting an nine-year-old car seems like a bit of an oversight. That's just what the Detroit Police Department has been doing since 2003 when it leased a 2004 model Dodge Intrepid at the lofty price of $608 per month. The problem? That trade-in never happened, and so far the city has handed out a total of over $56,000 in monthly payments. That's $65,000 for a car that could be bought new in 2003 for less than $25,000.<br />

But that's just one vehicle, and the city is currently paying for over a hundred leased cars currently in use, and all of them are operating on expired leases. The seemingly careless spending could total several millions of dollars in the end, and the city apparently has no plans to reverse the practice.<br />
<br />
The ridiculous waste of taxpayer money was discovered by local news station WXYZ, after they obtained the sales records through a Freedom of Information Act request. The station spoke with the president of the Detroit Police Officers Association, Joseph Duncan, who seemed just as outraged at the mismanagement as the taxpayers will be, stating &quot;This is malfeasance. It makes no sense to me.&quot;

It won't be used for hardcore gaming but will be used for modern games such as Skyrim etc. My current system has done 3 years and still plays brand new games on high settings so I'm looking for a similar level of longetivity.<br />
I'm not one for overclocking at all so assume everything will be used vanilla. Due to this I also don't want a heatsink the size of a small skyscraper.<br />
I do want it to be next to silent in non intensive usage like my current system.<br />
The most important thing is cost. I've got about £500 to spend on the upgrade which may be tight but should be enough.<br />
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.</div>

I can get rid of that &quot;effect&quot; by creating a new layer or messing with the history. <br />

Now this only happens to the very first photo that I open after opening PS. Any photo I open after the first photo will open like it used to. :?<br />

If I recall correctly I didn't mess with the graphics side of my PC recently other than updating the drivers after this happened, which didn't do anything. Then I thought that this might be something wrong with my copy of PS CS5 but today I removed that and installed CS6 and it still happens.<br />
<br />
As for the specs - Intel P4 3.06, 2GB Ram, GT240, Windows 7 32 Bit<br />
I know its not a powerhouse but more importantly it didn't happen before and now it does!<br />
<br />
Any ideas as to why this happens?</div>

The C88 was a prototype family car designed for the Chinese market in 1994 by Porsche in response to the Chinese government's invitation to a number of international automotive manufacturers for a new range of cars. It was completed in four months by Porsche engineers and was displayed to the public at the 1994 Beijing Auto Show.<br />

The four-door compact saloon body was unlike any other Porsche, and did not feature the Porsche badge anywhere. It was not well received by the Chinese, and Porsche went on to show it in India but without any success.<br />

Julia Ioffe, the Moscow correspondent for The New Yorker and Foreign Policy magazine, happened to be standing right behind him. She whipped out her iPhone and snapped a picture which she tweeted out to her over 6,000 followers with the caption &quot;Russia's Tianamen (sic) image.&quot;<br />

The photo quickly ricocheted around the internet.<br />

It was a David and Goliath moment, perhaps a metaphor for the unarmed protesters who clashed with police that day and whose movement is taking on President Vladimir Putin's formidable political system.<br />

Tens of thousands of protesters had marched against Putin that afternoon, the day before his inauguration. They were met by row after row of police, thousands of them, who were there to make sure they stayed within the bounds of their rally permit.<br />
 <br />
When a large group tried to cross a police line towards the Kremlin, police pushed them back and tensions flared. Rocks and bottles were thrown and police responded with what many say was disproportionate force,  deploying tear gas and striking people with their batons. They surged into the crowd to grab individuals and drag them by their arms, legs, and even their hair back to police vans. Many protesters were bloodied. By the end of the day more than 450 people had been arrested.<br />
 <br />
Ioffe had been there all day to cover the protest. She was in the thick of the melee and says she was  struck in the leg by a rock. When police had finally cleared the square, only a handful of protesters remained behind, including the group heckling the riot police.<br />

&quot;Shame on you,&quot; they shouted. &quot;What are you going to tell your grandparents who fought against the fascists? Don't you have mothers?&quot;<br />

Ioffe says she was walking with another journalist, Olaf Koens, who works for RTL Television in the Netherlands. They were tired and wanted to go find some dinner when they stopped to watch.<br />

Koens spotted the boy first.<br />
