OK episode... Loveblows stuff was educational.. still can't stand him though... Jason was by far and away the best in this episode.

Decent episode, although I would have liked to see more of Tiff. I actually managed to watch Lovefuck's segment this time. Jason's segment was fun to watch, and Vicki's was cool. It's getting better...accept the whole cafe banter and the pointless dismantling of that pos car.

If they just string Jason and Tiff's segments together, they would have something good.
Why do I get the feeling they want to be like TopGear and Jeremy Clarkson, especially Jason's failed attempt at a fat American joke. I liked the GT500 review, except for Jason claiming the car handled badly, while he was throwing it around corners without trouble and holding it perfectly in line and through the exit of the turn. Was he trying to say it's hard to powerslide? Because I was always under the impression that a good handling car is one that stays planted and puts the most of it's power to the ground without loosing traction and spinning the drive tires. The Suzuki Swift Sport review was great. Makes me wish "warm hatches" like that were more available in the States, other then the Mini. Tom's review of the quadbike was fun, but not very informative. Especially his poor choice of ATV. If he was really concerned with on-road handling, he should have gone with a cheaper, sportier RWD model. Vicki's drive in the racing truck was cool, except her annoying laughing and facial expressions. I think she should have gone a few more times and try to beat that time she set for herself, but she just gave up it seems.

Didnt any one notice that the lines on d cup were blue tape, and thn in the next moment Lovejoy covers the end s with his hand ,and makes it even more obvious! How cheap is this program.
Also cant the man read the simple words on the screen,he goes rrari for ferrari! Damn I wish top gear comes on air soon! |

Apart form Lovejoy I think it was a pretty good episode. I liked the Shelby review and enjoyed Tiff's test of the Swift Sport.

I'm probably going to get lynched for this, but Lovejoy wasn't the problem with this episode, Vicki was. The gag Tim made about the stripes was actually quite funny, but Vicki's over the top reaction ruined it. It would have been funny if she had made some sort of sarcastic reaction to it, like Hammond did with James May's hairdressers chairs after the Volvo test.
She also spoilt the truck segment with her giggling. Quote:

They're improving, that's for sure. Still a 50/50 episode though - Jason, Tiff, & Tom were good - Vicki in the truck was interesting when she was having to push herself - less interesting when she got all squeally...
But then the Cafe, Lovejoy, Wreck my Ride, Lovejoy, Fifth Gear Idol, and Lovejoy all conspire to drag the thing down. It's simple, lose the cafe and the other fill segments, leave Lovejoy in a dark cave somewhere, and then string the rest together and they'll have a decent show.

It was by far the most interesting episode of this series. Liked almost every part of it, only Tom Ford's part was a bit boring, didn't see the point and he overdid the leaning in the corners.
First time in enjoyed Lovejoy's part, the policemen seemed very nice and calm, just what you expect from the police. Jason's part on the Mustang was cool, but it could have been done by Jeremy Clarckson the exact same way, his analysis was exactly the same. Also liked Vicky driving around in that racetruck...and her facial expressions when it oversteered. In conclusion can be said: they are getting there |

seemed more remote and cold then ever before in my eyes. Tiff and Tom are the only ones that seemed like they wanted to try. Jason did a good review, but it just didn't feel like Jason's words or feelings. I saw hints of old Vicky which was welcome, but they quickly dissappeared again. Lovejoy seemed more quiet then usual and more serious which gave me hope that he might actually be able to take the job a little more serious. but overall this episode left me feeling kinda cold.

By far the best episode of this series. Platos review of the Mustang was great, Tiffs part was good, Lovejoys police part was good, Tom Fords part was ok, Vickis part was ok, but she still needs to get off the drugs. Wreck my ride was pointless as always. Lovejoy seems to be a lot less stiff, which is good.
Overall I enjoyed this episode. Keep up the good work. |

I found it sad how Jason tried to imitate Clarkson. I mean, seriously, that or he had a drastic personality change. Sad... And I always liked Jason the best
Destroying that car was pointless and utterly boring. Vicki's part had potential to be interesting if Vicki was not presenting it or if it would be done differently. Tiff was himself, which is the most important thing and which nobody except him and ironically Lovejoy, is anymore in the show. Yay for Tiff and the cute Suzuki Swift. Both Tom's and Lovejoy's part was interesting and fun to watch. |

they should have put the Shelby Mustang head to head with a Porsche 911 or the Audi RS4 - same money (more or less) cars... instead of showing how to dismantle a car...
am I bovvered? They are a waste of space but I save Plato (this time!) ![]() PS: am I the only anorak noticing that the way they introduce the Mustang with flickering neon lights was done already on Top Gear with the Lamborghini? FG: top of the class in originality, well done... not! |

Plato's review was very good, enjoyed it a lot , he didnt bullshit around. Tiffs bit wasn't half bad either, seems like a nice car as well. Toms bit was god and entertaining, quads are really hard to drive on road as Ive tried it before and almost crashed but so much fun of road.
Now for the bad bits- Wreak my car – We don’t want to watch some f***wits old crappy car being dismantled by a bunch of grubby old men. If you insist on doing this fill half the screen with a picture of a Lamborghini or Lovejoy being shot at. The traffic cops bit was ok, but would of been better if it was Tiff or Tom, even John, Lovejoy is just plain annoying. It should be noted Lovejoy that getting a white cup and putting coloured tape on it on a car show is not coll, smash it on you're head and then wed be happy. The truck racing was badly done, Vikki is far to immature and needs the boot, she squeals like a little girl and needs to grow up, she could present CBBC insteed of doing her current job. Overall much better, just torch the cafe with Lovejoy and Vikki inside it

Head to head would be great especially iwith the cars on the track simultaniously, Tiff vs. Jason. At the end also maybe tell times of cars going against only time. Such things should be in each episode but in reality they are maybe twice per season. FIFTHGEAR PEOPLE start copying BEST MOTORING goddam*it, since you guys are completely out of ideas, and not TOP GEAR ! We already have one of those on the air and do not need a downgraded version of it on the tv |

Nice to see Plato back as a regular - on a touring car break?
The Mustang drive was a good (not great) clip - a little under-done. It would have been a great clip if the Mustang finished in a shootout against a comparable car. But then -"..boring cup, faster cup". Y'know - I think our Tim is growing up - he's being allowed to contribute to the creative build process for the parts of the episode he 'stars' in. Unfortunately there was no one on-hand to slap that ridiculous idiocy right out of his head. But incredibly in a first for s10, it was made worse. How on earth did VBH avoid passing out from hyperventilating before "..that's so cool...". Billions of blistering blue barnacles, that's one set of wicked career brakes. Draw card to zero in five episodes. Wreck my ratings - did. Truck racing is cool - maybe they'll train up VBH and let her race - they could do some follow-me bits like Tiff in the DB9.Tiff in the Swift was a little tame - I think it would have been better with a part road, part track drive - then he could have had some real fun without worrying about other traffic. I'm not that interested in quad bikes - but liked Tom's honest 4x4 sum up. I liked Tim's police piece - mainly for the content. He didn't completely ruin it, but Jon Bently would have been far better. Does anyone else see the irony with Tim/VBH in the cafe setting, mocking those that sent in their own car review clips? <sigh> ... five episodes, and still missing the Fifth Gear soul/juju/mojo that was last seen in s09. |
