OK equal best show with ep 1.
Tiff proves he's a driving God again with a really good shoot out, Tom's M5 Touring bit and Plato's AM test both hit the spot. And hey Johnny's Mondeo test really really good IMHO. Mondeo proves to be a really nice car, it should be built and sold in NA no doubt. I am so pleased that the show is on the up.

Yeap, very good ep. The Mondeo test was good. But it seems like the production Mondeo doesn't look as good as the one in Casino Royale. I know car prices doesn't convert 1 to 1, but still, $50k USD for a Mondeo, no wonder Ford doesn't bring it over. The Mini ve Suzuki shoot out, I was really expecting the Suzuki to win, it's slightly more powerful and lighter, but I guess the Mini's got really good handling. In the vid tho it does seem like the Mini is a lot more stable. The M5 Wagon test is good, but a bit too long, since they already tested the regular M5. And finally, the Vantage Roadster does look pretty good, hopefully the new AM owner will make a Zagato version of it and give it more power.

Seems to me if Tom really wanted to get to Valencia in time he wouldn't have bothered with the hotel. But maybe I'm just used to real road challenges on TG. Granted he didn't think they'd go so soon, but he was in a hurry even in the beginning.

i liked this episode...but...i downloadeded this from the fifth gear topic..well
in the ep. summary...they mentioned this Last but not least, the programme catches up with racing babe Susie Stoddart, who has her hands on the DTM race car. that never happened.... |

not a bad ep
i didnt catch the reasoning for dropping cars from a crane, but from the looks of it i wouldnt say its equivalent to a 30mph head on smash..... it certainly wasnt a fair test...all the cars hit the ground at different angles. at least they said they werent being scientific but that segment really was an absolute load. new M5 tourer i think they dubbed some V10 noises over some of it tho.plato's review was good, so was tiff's mini vs swift..... i still like the swift better even though its slower. i cant actually remember what johnny or vicki did ![]() oh yeah the new mondeo!... yeah its a nice car alright but i dont think its going to be anything too special and within a few months there'll be thousands of them on the company car list and the same thing that happens to nearly all fords will happen....they'll just blend into the background because you'll see them that much they just wont be interesting any more i like johnny's style though Last edited by otispunkmeyer; June 5th, 2007 at 8:38 AM. |

I thought the episode was great. Equal to this series first episode...hopefully this standard is carried through the rest of the series.
Great to see Jason back. Can't wait for next weeks Tiff v Jason shootout. How good did the Aston sound - as did the M5 wagon.I didn't find any segment uninteresting, even a boring car like the Mondeo was made interesting by Jonny. |

the aston part was waaaaay to short really... even tho they have tested the other one.

I was also pleased with this episode.
I was able to connect my laptop to my new 50" HDTV and enjoy this ep on the big screen. Even the hairy bikers thing was kind of funny since they actually made road kill burgers and kabobs. |

good good, even driven to destruction was allright!!
the m5 touring sounds excellent!! The aston too, but its so expensive, I'd rather have a gallardo instead.. if I could afford it, obviously ![]() Tom's challenge was the first one in long time that 5G actually succeeded at! Although I would leave out the celebrity in the show and rather see Jason or Tiff powersliding.. |

Good Monkey
Mondeo - Johnny's really good at this now. A proper car review! M5 (though it didnt need the "Race" element) And that Awful woman! Her fawning over the M5 is insulting. We know she cant drive to save her life. So maybe she just needs to stop being anywhere near a performance car. Bad Monkey A1 pit stop (I watch F1 so I really DGAS about the wannabe series!) Also note to Henderson "nearly 200" is still NOT 200. You dont get "nearly" pregnant! Aston - Never liked the car tbh but it was filmed nicely. Mini v Suzuki - Bored of this now. Especially as both cars have been on before. Dropping cars from a crane - err? point! 3/10

Great stuff. I want that Aston so bad, Jonny's good as usual, and Tom's awesome as usual.

- Johnny's segment was fantastic as usual--like him more than Tom
- Shootout with Tiff was great - Couldn't care less about sailing, skipped this bit - Vantage segment could of been longer and more involved, nice visuals though - NOT ENOUGH VICKI

- Johnny's Segment was good, keep him around!
- Tiff shootout was okay, but both cars had already been reviewed before - M5 Touring was pretty good, but their silly "plotline" seemed very forced - Driven to destruction, ugh - Aston review seemed a little short, but good, every review plato does is better and better - Viki got crap for content, again...

Now that was a pretty good Fifth Gear episode. I only skipped through the celebrity stunt driving thing, and probably only because I was feeling intolerable at the time. Young Johnny did a great job save taking his shirt off, though Top Gear have already said that Mondeo-man has been replaced with 3-series-man.
Tom was great as usual, Vicki was annoying as usual though less so than usual, and Tiff getting that Swift sideways so nice - awesome! I kinda wished the Swift whooped the Mini, as we're looking at getting one in the next few months when my gf finally gets her frickin' licence. Sadly it won't be a Sport because she only wants to drive an auto, but even so I really enjoyed test driving an S model... very zippy. Minis are much more expensive here in Australia (AUD$30K+ versus AUD$24K) and are only driven by people who care too much about how their hair looks... heheh :-p

11th season is much better than the last series. It's really worth watching in this holiday season, while tg is over, all the tv series (lost, prison break, heroes etc) are over. Fg is saving the day.
This shoot out with mini and swift was brilliant. Especially with this radar tower stuff they show cars at the same time. I wish they would do it for a whole lap. From start to end. Just like a ghost car like old days in CMR series. And one thing about these shootouts ? they don't start stand still, so are we certain that they pass the start line at same speed ? . It's good to watch these shootouts but i do not believe they have so realistic results. Anyway it's fun to watch. Didn't Jeremy Clarskon announced that TG will be more entertaintment less speed before ?... It seems Same in FG too |

I DLed the show just because I heard it featured a duel between the Cooper and the Swift sport (Which I happen to own
) but after watching it I've given an opportunity to the rest of the show... and I've actually enjoyed it! Positive parts: The part of the BMW driving across Europe ended up being fairly enteirtaining, even though it showed that spanish roads are crap compared to those placed north of the Pyrenees (Shame on us )The Swift vs Mini duel seemed great to me, just as almost anything presented by Tiff and just almost featuring a Swift sport as well hehe. The Aston... A review of a car like that plumbering through roads like that had no other options but being good. Negative: The rest, I've skipped it |

^ I actually thought the Mondeo review was the most solid review in the series so far.
