I thought this was a good episode, and they've had a few good ones so far this season. Last week's didn't really do it for me, and the preview for next week didn't exactly get my heart pumping. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. |

![]() Loved Jonny's reaction to being in the drag car. Having been in a couple of extremely quick road cars (and my bike!) I sort of know the same feeling of speed is (I say sort of because I've never covered a quarter mile in 8.1 seconds). |

I enjoyed this episode, but it was pretty unremarkable.
The DSG transmission beating the manual was no great surprise - it changes gear in something like 60ms - it would be hard for it not the beat the manual. There is a reason race cars use paddle-shift you know. (I know the single-clutch boxes in F1 are even faster, but there isn't THAT much in it any more) I did find it annoying that they kept referring to the Gumpert as if it was a completely new and unheard of car. The Apollo S is just the latest version of the Apollo that has been around for years and has been in production since early 2006. I think I remember Autocar driving one back in 2005. |

True, and it doesn't really matter, but it wouldn't take much time or effort to be factually accurate. Just because they target a non-enthusiast audience doesn't mean they shouldn't get their facts straight.

Great ep. I'm not surprised that the DSG TT was quicker either, it just changes gears consistently and fast. The Fiat 500 is cute, but they need the Abarth version to compete with the Cooper S. 0-62 in over 10 secs is slow. The Gumbert is pretty cool, but to me it's no different than just a kit car (like that SSC that broke Veyron's speed record), sure it's fast but it doesn't seem to handle well, the cockpit is really cramped, and it's totally unstreetable. The Nemisis Range Rover is probably the best part of the ep, it's just like watching a replay of CM: Dirt, very fun stuff. The street car drag was alright, but it seems like it's just rehashing old stuff, but still, a 2000hp car is cool.
I have to say this is the best ep in this season, I didn't skip any parts, they are all pretty good.
