I didn't really like it. I don't know why. Nothing that I found interesting enough I guess.
The Maserati Gran Turismo is very very pretty though![]()
Woah, I forgot about it again! What a nice surprise!![]()
7 I think. Nothing too outstanding, although the rally bit was quite entertaining.![]()
It's new but is it any good > crappy cars taking over regular segments
am i right, or am i right?
I really enjoyed this weeks episode!I gave it a 9.
^ I did as well, this was fairly entertaining. The only part I skipped was Tiff's A3 crap.
GranTurismo + Lotus Carlton = a good programme.
Still watching, but man, how much can Hyundai copy other carmakers? I30? As if copying the 1 series' style is not enough, they even mimic'd the name. lol.
Edit: Just finished watching it. The shootout is pretty good, even though the VXR is a big and heavy car, 411hp should be sufficient. Too bad with the new CAFE standard GM probably won't import it over.
I didn't really enjoy the rally either, maybe if they would've used the WRX it would be more interesting.
I kinda expected Tiff to not like the A4 Cab, it's fwd, it's underpowered and it doesn't have the looks of the Eos. So yea, it's nothing special.
Loved the look of the Maser GT, but if the specs they said in the show are right, it's only as quick as the much cheaper and much more practical VXR. Maser shouldn't have detuned the Ferrari engine so much, if they just dropped in the F430 V8 with all of it's 480hp, it would've been the perfect car.

today's ep is a bit boring.... : (
whats tiff doing in an audi? and i did not enjoy the endurance race segment a bit.
maserati review was decent though, as expected from jason.
Liked it a lot, 8 from me.
It was nice to see the old Lotus Carlton - and I do remember the hoo haa when it was first released that kids would get them and drive about the place crashing them, now really, I thought it rot at the time.
Anglesea - holiday area in the UK - notice how it is nearly always wet there?
Like the trialling - it is not rallying, different thing altogether and part of the point is to take old motors, did anyone see a scooby on the trial? No of course not. I loved scrutineering - has it got an MOT, thats about it?
If the Maser has a Ferrari then no wonder they detuned it - do not want a competitor, however it occurs to me - what is detuned can be tuned can it not?
As I have said - good show this week - keep it up FG.
That Diesel 'chip fat' pump - could do with one of them. 15p per litre!

If the maserati is using a ferrari V8 than they must have changed nearly everything on it, as the ferrari v8 uses a flat plane firing order, aka the double inline-4 sound, while maserati uses a cross plane firing order, the usual one.
So they must have fabricated an entirely new bottom end, the only thing they might have kept is the valve train.
Nice show this week!! I'm not a big 5g fan, but this week it was good. 8/10
It was nice clean car show, no BS celebs and movie stunts and so on.
VXR8 vs Lotus Carlton shootout, niceMore old dreamcars!!!
And i liked the race too. Very cool. I would like to participate the race, if i had a chance.
Tiff and Audi - good proper car review finally, and no drifting thank god!! I'm sick of seeing him only drift.
Maserati looks superb.

Automobile magazine this month has an article on this engine, describing the different modifications done to it in the Maserati, Alfa 8c and Ferrari F430. On of the big differences is that in the ferrari they use a 180 degree crank, whereas in the other two it's a 90 degree crank.
They also mentioned that maserati is going to do a 4.7 litre version of the Granturismo, which might alleviate some of Jason's complaints.
Good episode. The A3 bit was a bit boring--but so is the car I'd imagine. Not my kind of Audi. The race was a very good segment as was the shootout. The Gran Turismo review wasn't bad--but wasn't as entertaining as Jason's other reviews. I guess that's Maserati's fault for making a boring but beautiful car.
Well.
VXR8 v Lotus Carlton - It had VBH in it. I notice that of all the sliding shots, they were 99% cut away from before she had control of the car. (i.e. drivne foward again) Says to me she spent most of the day spinning.
Mazda v Focus. Not bothered.
Trialing - Loved this. Firstly because they did well and they make a good double act. Secondly because it was O R I G I N A L. BBC havent done this. Did nt like Henderson referring to herself as a racing driver at the end though. smacked of one upmanship and shes NO racing driver of any note or quality!
Audi A3 - Im with Tiff, convertibles are crap. And this one is a car designed my marketing, not consumers so it looks shit too!
Maserati. Liked that too
Black Cab. Wasnt too long and sensible conclusion I think. 5G of old would of said "We need a new law introduced" Which as stated would increase costs and take away responsible parenting.
Big step in theright direction. 7.5/ 10
LOL @ Johnny Smith telling people to check the oil in used Imprezas. I was half expecting him to say make sure no ones put 75w90NS oil into the engine.
I rather liked this episode
Pros:
Seeing the old Lotus Carlton
Beautiful Maserati GT
Johnny got me thinking about buying an Impreza again
Cons:
Tiff's segment was boring, please let this sweet driver have a drivers car
Could have picked a better car for the Tom and Johnny.... 50bhp?
