    - Wolfgang Bernhard, then Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Group talking about the Dodge Viper SRT-10
... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

    IS-F

Personally, the IS-F excites me much more than the M3!
8 gears, lovely sound, nice styling.

But what was that all about the beeps? Very stupid indeed, hopefully they will remove that.

Fiesta ST, still one of my favorite cars. Looking forward to the new model.

Other than that, dunno, pretty good but I don't get excited by FG anymore.

They allways screw up the tests. How about a real world test of the Smart electric car? Did they even say what the range is?! Pathetic.
I watched it with a little delay so I was skipping forward like crazy through the boring bits until I caught up.

Funnily enough - something you won't catch in the rip - right after Tom's review of the new Volvo XC70, the first ad during the break was one for the XC70. Coincidence? I think not!

Anyone else notice the hand in the back of the Ford during the shootout? I think you can also see someone's leg in the Vauxhall's front seat.

Hopefully the camera crew wasn't all piled in during the hot lap.

I think not! It was pretty funny actually, almost like continuing the test. They must've paid a premium for that slot.

Is it just me or does the song go "gay gay gay" during the beginning of the Volvo review?

I wonder if the Lexus's 8speed really makes that much a difference over having a 6 speed tranny, especially with it's bigger (and therefore more torquey) engine.

Vicki also built a budget series hybrid at the end there when she ran the generator in the electric smart

Fiesta vs Corsa, I agree with Vikki. The Fiesta looks a lot more stable and has less body roll than the Corsa, GM really need to tweak that chassis a bit more. Too bad we don't get the Fiesta here, 150hp in that little car is pretty cool

Smart ForTwo vs the electric ver, not really interested, I guess it was alright.

Nissan Figaro, that car looks so cool and cute. They should've given that away for the drawing. Although the engine bay is a bit small, I bet an SR20 will fit in there (maybe the SR20VE), that would make it a very cool little car to drive.

Volve XC70, that's a pretty cool car, with 25mpg, the fuel consumption is not bad for an soft roader. The active suspension seems to keep the car pretty flat too.

Lexus IS-F, great review. I can see what Tiff is saying about that annoying gearbox though, but I guess it's because it's from the LS600h also, it's designed to be a luxury gearbox, so it can't really shift fast enough, so it just beep at you. If they put the IS250's manual box in there, that car would've been perfect. And from another review (I think it's Autoweek) that I've read, I though the stability control couldn't be completely turned off (at least in the USDM car), I wonder if they also have a secret turn off sequence like the MB GL that they tested.

    I don't think saying she's hot/pretty is disrespectful.

Good ep all around. No real major complaints. I will say Toyota managed to ruin the LS-F with that infernal beeping. Can't Toyota just give in and make a COMPLETE fun car? The IS-F is almost perfect in every way except that moronic beeping--and I'm not a fan of an 8spd gearbox. 6 is borderline too many as it is.

Tiff yelling at the gearbox in the IS-F reminded me of Clarkson yelling at the sat-nav woman in the ///M5.

A car that is so fun and so mad that it drives the presenters insane yet they adore it. I think Lexus hit the mark on their first attempt at making something completely different.

Better than an ///M3? No. But I'd rock it.

Chear, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did this on all hot laps, it's not just Fifth Gear though, the Top Gear tests are an absolute joke as well; in that they are completely inaccurate and conclusive of nothing. You cannot assess the true speed of a car with a human being driving it.

B.T.W., the bit where Tiff Needle said "We might have to change the name of our show!" it made me think, maybe "Final Gear" would have been a better name for the show, too bad you guys already snapped it up!

yep Tom's wife is quite good looking, with any luck his kids will grow up to look more like her than him.
Oooh, that's not very nice, poor Tom Imagine if he reads these forums dude. Tom looks fine, you make it sound like he is horribly disfigured or something. He looks like a big, cuddly bear
