NASCAR bit was all I caught and it was well done but it could of focused on the racing rather than camper vans and beer. Wanted to see Tiff go round Daytona.

I wanted to see Tiff actually drive a NASCAR. I agree with viper, that skier is hot.

^ I'm with Viper - She's got some "balls" too tho' IMHO.
Oh Fith Gear, er, well, yes, well a solid 8 / 10 for me, I think that they did NASCAR as well as it could be done - minus the racing. I liked the shootout, put a Cayenne on my shortlist thank you very much and as I always suspected the Honda S2000 is a bloody great little car. Not a duff bit in it this week, now wind back to "that skier chick" and watch again.

Very great episode. Very cool to see such a fairly unbiased look at NASCAR, though it'll never totally shake its backwards hick image, maybe it is better for it? I don't know. Regardless, very interesting look at it.

speaking of juan pablo...
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ol_boy_feature "In October 1998, just before his 32nd birthday, CART driver Alex Zanardi got a phone call from an agitated Chip Ganassi, owner of the team he drove for. "Alex," said Ganassi, "I need you to help out Montoya." Juan Pablo Montoya, a 23-year-old Colombian test driver for the Williams Formula 1 team, was part of a complicated swap that essentially traded Montoya to Ganassi to replace Zanardi, who was off to Formula 1 with Williams. Ganassi, planning to test Montoya at Homestead-Miami Speedway, was literally begging Zanardi to help. "You have to do this favor for me," Ganassi said, "because Montoya is scared shitless of the ovals." Zanardi, as he recalls in his autobiography, My Sweetest Victory, did help Ganassi and Montoya. And soon Zanardi, and everyone else, recognized that scared or not, Montoya did pretty well on oval tracks, including an Indianapolis 500 victory the first and only time he raced there." Quote:
and i know i know..."lol no right turns..." i think they do two road races a year in nascar, watkins glen in new york and sears point in cali (now known as infineon)

AFFIRMATIVE wow this episode was actually pretty kickass. Made me think twice about NASCAR. I also like Johnny's sky blue shirt towards the end. Anyone know where i can get one of those? Looked like a drifting shirt... at a nascar event haha |

Yea, the skier chick is definitely hot. Jason should've driven a lap too so we can compare the laptime. The new Cayenne still looks ugly, but at least it's quick. I knew Vikki would pick the S2k over the 350Z, after all, she owned one. The Nascar stuff is not bad, I didn't skip it at least. Nothing stands out in this ep, but it's not bad.

Yeah I was thinking that when I saw that bit, Blonde, hot, into cars, bit silly, a rare combination, what more could a guy want?
Sadly though, she was wearing rallying overalls instead of something which shows up the curves more so I couldn't do a full body assessment![]() Quote:
One thing that really riled me on this episode though was testing the S.U.V.s on the track I couldn't help noticing the irony when Vixen said "I think the Cayenne is the best S.U.V. for track use" I thought But, still, I guess we should be greatful because it would doublely piss off the environMETALists to see people driving flat out in unnecessarily big machines![]() Oh yeah and the nascar. The problem with nascar is that it is merely Australian V-8s without the right turns. Last edited by Flynn; March 11th, 2008 at 11:49 AM. |

Yeah, I noticed Jonny Smiths t-shirt as well, I emailed Fifth Gear this morning to get more info on it.
I'll let you know what/if they come back with anything. |

I asked a nascar fan friend of mine about the sport, saying "I'm all for V8 RWD racing, if they made the cars more differant and did 100 percent road courses". He told me, and i quote: "Two-thirds of the races are done on road courses". Is he mistaken, or does nascar not deserve its "turn left" reputation?
