I really liked it.

Ronnie O'Sullivan was the weakest bit though. Crap segment IMO.

Tiff vs. Plato - I really liked this, but would liked to have seen some more challenges. It's nice to see the real near miss and know it wasn't staged. Good shootout. Evo SST 'box seems crap though.

New presenter seems ok to me and it seems like he knows a thing or two about cars. He is much better than Lovegay. Come to think of it though, nothing can possibly get much worse than Lovegayjoy.

Fuel Economy Test was really strange. Surly the results should have been better. However, even if they were better 90% of car owners wouldn't chip their cars to be more economical and fit prius tires. Therefore that test is largely irrelevant. Also, wtf was up with giving away money to people?

Ford Cougar Test was good. I did expect a little more from Tom Ford but still I did enjoy it.

Scrap Test was bang on. Not too long, not too short. Interesting and a great bit from Jonny.

Rinspeed was good. I read about it in CAR magazinge and it was nice to see the action on video. Tiff is also a plus.

All in all, I think it was a very strong opening episode. The new studio looks great and that track is awesome. I have high hops for this series.

That was the snooker guy, right ? For me that part should have had subtitles, but then I am not a native speaker.

I doubt that the gearbox was the problem. He should probably have read the manual to know how to do a fast start. Previous models had launch control (even with the manual gearbox) so I doubt that this one doesn't.

Didn't they even had the budget to install a precise fuel meter ? Puting a gallon of fuel and driving until it stops is not very precise (and it is boring).

New presenter is unnecessary. Use either Vicki or Jonny. Actually, it lost a lot without Vicki there. She's one of the main differences between TG and FG and was missed at the beginning. Tom and New Bloke made the beginning quite boring.

The fuel economy thing was a sleeper.

Default Monday is the new Sunday?

Full disclosure: I've seen every TG epsiode at least twice, including the original format stuff (read: huge fan).
I've seen all the FG episodes too, but FG is just a methadone to the epic fix that is TG.
All that said, this last episode was quite good, a large improvement over previous episodes!

Here's what I liked:
--VBH sliding while Ronnie O'Sullivan clings on for dear life was hilarious.
--aside: the sexiest thing in the world is a woman better than you are.
VBH (via the transative property) is the sexiest thing in the world. I want to reprogram my DNA with that of a seahorse so i can have VBH's babies. (restraining order in 3..2..)

--Tiff and Jason doing what they do best, and their competitiveness is fun.

--New guy + Tom seem to have a good rhythm.

Didnt like:
--Rinspeed bit was just too long, and got boring.

--Fuel prices... decent but it would have been much more meaningful for them undo some of the changes to find out what was the thing that gave them worse MPG!

(am i right in presuming that chipping your car for more HP usually means less MPG?)

--**Also, the one thing that i can never understand about FG is their giveaways. Don't get me wrong, its a inciting package every week, but I would much rather them use that money towards making a better show! Anyone else agree with me?

No idea why they felt the need to add a presenter. He started with the lamest of subjects, made a lame attempt and just succeded at lameness. Not impressed.

It's episode 1 and I'm sick of the "Tiff and Jason are the best everrrrrrr" crap already.
Their shootout was great, though.

Everything else was okay. Nothing nuts, but definitely watchable.

Oh yeah, love the new studio. Great improvement.
