Yeah, I agree. I keep wanting to call him a douche as he's a DJ, but I can't bring myself to do it as he's actually good. images/smilies/mellow.gif

The design to change the headlight bulb on a Mégane is pretty rubbish, but it doesn't take that much time to do it. You don't need to take the wheel off, just turn the wheels full lock and you access the cap fine. My Renault dealer does it in a minute, and they charge me 10€ for it including the bulb. UK dealerships must be absolutely worthless to charge 30 to 60£ for that.

The new guy's light bulb segment was pretty good and interesting. The SL63 review was meh and I was suprised they loved that sound, IMO it sounds terrible.

Tiff said it was the car letting you know you're approaching the rev limiter and to switch gears, he says it right at the beginning of the review, as they're showing the car going around the track, before there's an in-car view, iirc. Very similar to the IS-F, which Tiff did complain about.

Side note: I saw my first IS-F and C63 AMG on the road couple weeks ago, they look great. Merc is awesome, IS-F is nice, but not nearly as impressive, though those funny exhausts def grab the eye with their funky arrangement and the fact that they're chrome.

Not as good as last week, but thankfully the crash bit was short. Unfortunately the GT" bit was short as well.
Their new track seems nice, they should have done a round up of various cars (one of each class, from mini hatchback to full blown supercar) at first, though. To set a benchmark of sorts.

Still, 7/10 and the second week in a row where I don't want to do unspeakable things to Vicki, so thx for listening (to us???) FG!

Really, really good, FG is getting better

The lightbulb thing was interesting, which means the new guy can present pretty much anything and still make it interesting

Tiff's shootout was OK, but I'm getting a bit tired of that sort of thing now.
Vicki was annoying with all the shrieking, but thankfully the "ZOMG Hamilton is a god" section was short enough.

Johnny was fantastic as usual, great cars for "beer money" images/smilies/lol.gif

Jason's review of the Porsche was pretty good, he has a good way of explaining exactly how the car feels to drive
I even liked Tom's SL63 review...a million hp does not always make a good car...

The M5 was made famous by Ronin? Wasn't that the S8?

I still think they've got too many hosts, but they handled it better than they did in the first episode. Maybe they should include segments that more than one host can participate in so everyone isn't limited to a few minutes of air time. Didn't care for the Lewis Hamilton segment too much and the GT2 review was short. The rest was pretty good, Tim is already a decent host and understands what the show is about. 8/10

I've been looking up the E34 M5 since I watched this episode... God, I want one. One of the sexiest sedans ever, IMO.

I really, really images/smilies/love.gif that movie...anyone who's ever been to the Paris Périphérique (ring road) will know how insane the traffic is there. Imagine going round it the wrong way, with oncoming traffic

That can be easily fixed, dump VBH and you still have 2 proper race car driver hosts and then 3 'ordinary blokes' (altho 2 would be enough IMHO)

Having Tiff and Plato as the fast drivers and Ford and Smith as the 'regular guys' would be perfect, but so far Tim Shaw does NOT stick out like a sore thumb, its just too bad his inclusion may cost presenters like Johnny Smith airtime.

I think having 6 hosts is an advantage. If you don't like one of the current segments, they're all under 10 minutes long so don't have long to wait until the next one.

Having said that, I do like all the segments they have, and I really enjoyed this week's ep.

It's really good stuff - I reckon Fifth Gear have finally hit the right recipe for a decent car show.

Loved it, it was really quite good. I'm so very disapointed in the Mercs outcome, Tom's right, it's not a merc if you have to egg it on.

One weird thing i noticed during the GT2 review, a closeup camera shot of the GT2 carbon bucket seats revealed 'SRS Airbag' plastic plate on the side. Carbon bucket racing seat with a side airbag? where the hell do they fit it?

I don't know. The S8 always stuck with me more, I never even knew that was an M5... but know that I do know, I guess I was wrong and openly admit so.

That movie holds #2 and #3 in terms of Car Chases in movies though. Great film.

The rest of the Fifth Gear episode was good too. Crazy how busy Hamilton is, even on the golf cart when VBH is trying to have a conversation with him he's multitasking for the fans.

The Headlight bit was hard to believe too. Made me images/smilies/lol.gif that he could do the Golf with one hand.

I do NOT have any joy watching the 3 TG guys buying some old cars and braking them down with "challenges" which are in 80% bloody cheap, and all that to be the main stuff in every single episode. I used to love TG mainly because Jeremy's reviews full of different and funny approach to the car and the interesting tests with those supercars. I don't want to watch no more "buy a bicycle for 20 bugs and make it Ferrari in Jeremy's way" - it's mediocre, really. And Jeremy to say that the races from point A to point B are not made up when EVERY time they have 30 secs difference at the finish is what I call arrogance.
And in the name of the Gods of the cars, please Top Gear, enough with those gays as guest stars. From where do you dig those individuals. Are those the stars of UK. Please, stop it ! When was the LAST time a beautiful woman was on the show (oh yes, the news girls, who are not the exact idea of beautiful IMO). I understand that in the UK is quite unusual to meet a beautiful female, but came on... Take one girl from some model agency and put it there just to look at her for 10 min, but enough with those gays and semi-crazy "stars".

Sorry for so much TG, but that was needed in order to express what I see in Fifth Gear: great car reviews in most of the time: GT2, SL63 AMG, some sporty cars... A car flipover just for taste. That's what I want. I don't want circus with 3 clowns driving old 1000 pound cars...
If I do, I'll watch Thunder Races or Junkyard Wars on Discovery, 'cause they do it so much better than TG's show.

Well, not the best presenters in Fifth Gear. That new guy - OMG ! and Vicki - wow, when they say ugly, thats what it comes to mind...
But looking forward to see Fifth Gear getting better and better. I liked this episode a lot.

Sorry for being so offensive, but as a real CAR lover and not cheap comedy show lover I felt obligated to say all this.
YEah, i agree with most of your thought. I do not normally do this because there are a lot of TG fan's out there. For me, if i want some fun and laughter, it would be TG and some serious motoring from all aspect whether if it is boring or not it would be FG many times over TG. Both shows are nice but they are not really the same category to me. If were to choose one out of them i would pick FG for sure images/smilies/smile.gif

I liked the changing the light bulb segment. It shows that just how much different between those 2 cars. And as usual, i love Jonny segment regradless of what he is doing images/smilies/smile.gif
