Stop all the micro segments, Fifth Gear. Just stop it! Ruins the episode.

Nobody cares, do they?
The TG Thread would have been chock filled by now if they were airing. Fifth Gear: If you bother coming on here, please stop all those mini segments. They honestly are not very entertaining. |

Remember that Fifth Gear is more geared towards information than entertainment. Comparing two Ferraris, while entertaining, doesn't matter to the average Joe. Two cars people can actually afford on the other hand...
Although with that said, I don't see how transporting flowers will be a good test, but I'm not there yet so who knows.

I was a bit disappointed by this episode. I always thought of Top Gear is the entertainment show and Fifth Gear as the "car" show but Fifth Gear is trying to go the Top Gear route. And unsuccessfully I might add. Way too many segments.
What I wanted to see was Porsche 911 and Tiff. Maybe a test between the Insignia and the Mondeo and not just people's opinions. SMART cars are useless and shouldn't be talked about anymore ![]() I liked it but you I didn't have time to watch it because everything was flying by so quickly. Fifth Gear, slow down and stop trying to be Top Gear. Fifth Gear is great for what it is. Tiff, Jason and yes even Vicky driving cars with Tom, Jonny and Tim reviewing cars people might actually buy. I gave it an 8/10 |

The Porsche segment was too short, not enough information about the car.
Celebrity petrol heads? Sounds a bit too familiar with what Top Gear is doing all this time. I am starting to wonder if the FG producers have ADHD, what's with all these "tiny bit of everything"? If you want to put more "meat" into every segment, then make it a full hour show. |

That was a bore-a-thon. How they managed to produce 42mins or whatever of footage without any real information *and* entertainment is beyond me.
So a new 911 can do 33mpg... that's just awesome!! That's why I'd consider it over an R8. Combine that with a 32 year old going for his driver's license again, supremely entertaining stuff. Don't forget the driving around the city @ 5mph in a Smart car... The list goes on! |

Seriously, this season is sucking. FG needs to STOP MAKING SHORT SEGMENTS. The 911 part, the only one I really wanted to see, was like 4 min? What the hell? TG does way better reviews, and they're not even really trying to do thorough reviews (cept for that funny Ford Fiesta piece). I mean, there are so many people and so many segments that none matter and none are very good. Less segments, Longer segments, More thorough segments, and STOP the celeb bits, they are a WASTE of TIME. I don't even watch SIARPC on TG anyway.
Exactly, 6 comments at the time of this posting? Top Gear would be on page 8 or something.... |

Another vote for the revolting new format with a bunch of mini segments. Awful.

.. and another one. Head lines and no content .... that 911 test, finished more suddenly than anything on (the much criticised) Top Gear Australia. Looks like fifth gear has taken a real backward step from last series.

yep, that definitely sucked. felt far too rushed. they should have ditched one (or both) of the celeb bits to make room to stretch out the reviews.
oh, and Tiff copied James' "blue-teeth" thing and Vicki squealed when stupidly placed bunch of flowers landed on her. and what the hell was Johnny doing reporting on banger racing? every time you give Johnny a lame segment, God kills a kitten.

Terrible. 4/10
Not a single good segment, and there were lots to choose from.

They need to knock out about a quarter of the segments and actually give a car some screentime and oh, I don't know, tell us about it? The Vauxhall Insignia segment comes to mind. I might be an American but I know enough to know that the Insignia is a VERY IMPORTANT new car for the UK market, yet you treated it like a fluff piece with a homosexual who knows nothing about cars trying to make you remember when he was on The Apprentice. Utter feces. Vicki and The Smart. How do I put this... mathematically impossible. Somehow Cute Girl + Cute Car = Bad TV. YOU BROKE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS TO MAKE A SEGMENT THAT LAME! Johnny at the... umm... where was he again? Tom and the big nosed bloke testing traction control to see if it works. Hey, if you guys liked that check out my YouTube video entitled "Is my poo brown and stinky?"... trust me, the answer might be less obvious than Tom and Jason's segment... Oh yeah, speaking of The Beak, he drove a... Twitter... Twiggy... Titty... and a 30 year old Renault that was within 3 seconds of the Tipsy... Tigger... whatever around a circuit stretching a whole 30 yards. I don't know what you showed us there Schnozz... didn't even go sideways in the Tripe... Toga... Thingie... ...and we come to the best segment of the show... ironically by the worst presenter on the show. Tim Shaw's Driving Test. Ok, Johnny would have passed right off and that would have shown that he's a responsible young man, which we already know, but Tom could have done it, failed both times, and it would have been funny or Vicki could have done it, failed the first time, passed the second time and it would have been informative and useful. Alas they gave it to Tim and while it had it's moments, and meaningful information wafted past the screen, albeit almost unnoticed, I can't help but feel it would have been more informative, or more entertaining if another presenter had done it. Episode 2 is a step back from Episode 1. Good god this wasn't even as good as Motorweek! 3/10

Not fantastic, needed more Porsche...
and Jason could've gotten that Porsche to go faster if he'd tried it again. |

The point wasn't to be funny. The point was that the segment was so boring I can't even remember the name of the damn car being tested. It was silver though... I'm pretty sure of that.

So I'm a better driver than Tim Shaw.
..Anyone else notice the raging-homosexual floweshop owner/manager?
