I accidentally gave the ep. a 6, meant to give it a 7... I too did enjoy this fifth gear ep. more than last nights TG ep. But i think Tim Shaw needs to go, even though his segment last night was OK. But the studio bits are awful.

Another week, another terrible episode of Fifth Gear. What else is new? I never thought I'd say this, but the only good part this week was Tim Shaw's segment, because it was actually informative. And I realized that I can no long watch Tiff, because no matter how good the car he is testing is, and no matter how good his driving, nothing they do can get rid of Tiff's voice, because it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. 2/10.

Rather ordinary compared to TG, but the V12 Vantage and filming at Dunsfold add a point.
Edit: gave it a 6.

A solid effort, so 7 from me.

One thing about the wheelie cars, Fifth Gear should watch Monster Garage. The Ambulance wheelie car that Jesse James and the crew built was crazy, especially when Jesse decided to test it out on the street.

Cheers.

Miata vs Mini, great review, they should've waited for the MazdaSpeed version though.

Toyota Urban Cruiser (is it the same as the Scion XD?), looks pretty good, but only 89hp? At least the XD have 128hp.

Ghostbuster car, I never seen the movie, so it doesn't interest me.

V12 Vantage. Great review from Tiff as usual, for a car that's so expensive, it should've came with a V12 in the first place. I remember it was either Clarkson or Tiff complaining about the V8 version's lack of power in their first review. I wished they didn't add all those vents in the hood though, it makes the car look too tuner-ish, too agressive.

Cheap alterntive segment. I kinda agree with Johnny's choice this weak, except that Jag's have pretty bad eletricals, so buying a Jag this old might have a lot of headaches down the road.

Wheelie cars, totally pointless segment, but it's fun to watch. So that's ok.

Guys, is it just me, or did anyone else think it was weird how Tiff said 'yumping' (instead of jumping). I’ve travelled a fair bit, and people have a lot of weird pronunciations in different parts of the world, but I’ve never heard that before.

At first, I thought it was a joke. But he said it a few times.

Pretty good episode... having no celebrity crap certainly helped, as did the teaming of Johnny and Tom, which is always a winner.

Can't say I noticed... but in some Euro languages (Slovene's the one I'm most familiar with) "j" is pronounced like a "y", which would definitely explain Tiff's pronunciation. A Danish-born guy I work with does similar crazy stuff... he pronounces "environment" as "en-why-ronment" - and he says it a lot, because we work for the state Environment department!

2/10 from me. That the show has sunk as low as to have a man sacked by Living TV for being caught faking his psychic act is depressing beyond belief. Journeyman Tom and The Village Idiot presenting in a broom cupboard...

The show seems to have relocated back to Birmingham. I suspect the reason Vicki isn't on much is that she can't get there from London. To film the Italian Job piece in S16E03 she had to take the day off at Absolute Radio. Presumably, thats one of the reasons she's leaving it.

Considering how appalling the ratings are, I'd be surprised if there aren't big changes for series 17, presuming that Five actually commission it. Here's hoping it goes back to being a car show rather than a third-rate Top Gear.
