There's a test-drive for the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a Porsche takes on a Lotus on the racetrack, and Jason Plato finds out at first hand whether racing drivers make good fighter pilots.

Not alot for an hour, wonder how they will fill it??

Absolutly cant wait for AMV8 review. I'll be interested to see what they have to say about it..
I pressume the Lotus they speak of is the Esprit they want to break the 200MPH barrier. Wonder if they can do it??

the Lotus part is the head to head race on the track against a porsche. it'll probably be an Exige against a Boxster or something.

Are they trying the Top Gear approach? All those interesting bits. I always saw Fifth Gear as an informative show in the first place.

i suspected this when they did the test with the Range Rover Sport against the horse. it was the most Top Gear-like thing i've ever seen.

Considering that almost all their team is the genesis of the 90's Top Gear, that got me glued to the show, good for them if they're getting more Top Gear.
Well, thinking about it, Fifth Gear should be named Top Gear, and Top Gear something else.

All I can say is it's much better than the old format. A bit of a crib off Top Gear, but different in its own way. It keeps you interested and I would personally say is on an equal to TG now images/smilies/smile.gif

Much better however feel they could have squeezed in one more segment with the time available and what’s the deal with using the old watchdog set (people in the UK will know what I mean). Ditch the set and move to the local bar or even better say the SLR factory or something
