On this week’s show, Tiff goes head to head with a Le Mans winner – in a pair of vans. Guy Smith, the British driver who won the famous 24-hour race for Bentley, will be driving Britain’s fastest van, the brand new VW Transporter Sportline. Tiff lines up alongside him in the most famous commercial vehicle of all time – the ‘A-Team’ van. In a battle of old versus new, who will triumph on the track?

Quad bikes can now do far more than cart a bedraggled sheep dog around a field or crash the odd celebrity in to a tree on their country estate – recently they became road legal. Tom gets some professional training but quickly discovers that no amount of instruction can prepare him for the wobbly cornering. Will he topple over?

The Lotus Elise S is the best way to experience supercar performance on a budget. Vicki proves the point by teaching a very special student how to race it round a circuit. Vicki’s pupil? Her sister Charlotte. Will she take after her sister and be a speed demon, or will it all end in tears?

Tim takes to the streets of London in the G Wiz, a £7,000 electric car that is exempt from the congestion charge, road tax, and can be parked for free in central London. If you drove into London every day the car would pay for itself with the savings it makes. But is a car with a top speed of 40mph and a range of 40 miles really practical? And will Tim find a place to plug it in when the batteries go flat?

Also this week, Jon investigates whether the ramped ends of motorway crash barriers are as safe as they look. Every year there’s a case of a car hitting them at the wrong angle and taking off, spectacularly flying through the air. Jon demonstrates this effect using a car being driven by remote control, then tests some potentially safer solutions.

The van race, quad bikes and Jon Bentley car crash bits I expect to be good images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm not so sure if Vicki and her sister is going to any good. Could you imagine the giggling? Hopefully they focus more on the Lotus images/smilies/biggrin.gif

yea what did happen to plato? did his touring car racing get to much and made him quit the show? too bad tho, i really liked the tests he did w/ tiff (Z4 v boxster, C6 v SRT-10, AND most of all the RS4 images/smilies/eek.gif

Looks like you're one of the only people. They've taken arguably one of their best seasons ans unlearnt everything. It's a cross between an american carshow and a sitcom now.
