In episode one...
Quote:
Tom discovers what it’s like to be a paparazzi photographer hot on the trail of celebrities in an unassuming black Kia Cee’d – the perfect car for “spies, getaway drivers and paparazzi”. After a briefing from Big Pictures boss Darryn Lyons he’s off, and soon has Madonna firmly in his sights. But will he come up with a big money picture?

There’s also a big car crash investigation. Two identical cars meet in a head-on collision, one in perfect condition and one which has been badly repaired. The results are shocking and demonstrate the importance of carrying out a vehicle history check before you buy second-hand.

Also this week, Tiff Needell has the first TV test of the car everyone’s talking about: the Audi R8.

And regular racing mogul Jason Plato puts his foot to the floor when he takes the Brabus Rocket, the world’s fastest four-door saloon, to the German Autobahn to try and top 200mph.

And Vicki puts the Fiat Panda 100 HP through a stern test as she races it against a Ferrari around a track –with some surprising results.
And some general info regarding season eleven:
Quote:
More motoring thrills and spills as Fifth Gear returns to Five for its eleventh series with co-hosts Vicki Butler-Henderson and Tom Ford back at the wheel.

Highlights of this series include world superbike leader James Toseland riding his bike against the new Honda Civic Type R, Vicki in a Hollywood stunt worthy of a James Bond movie, and an A1 grand prix car racing around London’s famous landmarks.

There will also be a new strand, Driven to Destruction, which will test the durability of cars in a unique way. Plus, regular faces Tiff Needell and Jason Plato will put their racing skills to the test against celebrity guests, as well as delivering their own authoritative reviews of motoring classics such as the Rolls Royce Phantom and the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.
This opening ep looks really good! The Audi R8 (driven by Tiff) AND the Brabus OMG...I mean "Rocket" driven by Plato on the Autobahn. I like the sound of that! And theres a good 'ol Fifth Gear crash test in for good measure.

I remain optimistic in hoping Fifth Gear returns to the lofty high standards it once had. Bring on series 11 images/smilies/smile.gif

Bah @ Tom's segment. What a waste of talent and what a stupid bit.

Crash test sounds very interesting.

WOOOOOT @ Tiff's review. Tiff + R8 = OMFG!

Jason segment sounds interesting, but it'll probably be only like 1-2 minutes long. images/smilies/dry.gif

Meh @ Vicki's segment

A1 car in London? Holy crap, that sounds great!

This sounds much more promising now, can't wait to see the R8 and the Brabus. No more Loveboy, either.

Dare I say it, Fifth Gear getting back into proper form?images/smilies/w00t.gif

Hopefully the R8 test will be a review instead of just a preview.

No Lovejoy: check
Tiff driving anything: check
Tom doing something crazy: check
No Lovejoy: double check
Jason driving something: check
No freaking Lovejoy: triple check

Looks like the verdict is in, this series won't suck nearly as bad as the last one.
