More motoring thrills and spills as Fifth Gear continues its 13th series with Vicki Butler-Henderson, Tom Ford, Tiff Needell, Jason Plato and Jonny Smith at the helm. In the second programme of the new series, Vicki Butler-Henderson goes behind the scenes of a spectacular Hollywood car stunt; Tiff Needell and Jason Plato go head-to-head in the most exciting race in Fifth Gear history; and Tom Ford tests the latest Toyota Landcruiser.

This week, Vicki explores the real story behind one of Hollywood’s most spectacular stunts: the barrel roll. In the recent Bond movie, ‘Casino Royale’, an Aston Martin DBS was rolled a record-breaking seven times – but just how is a stunt like this made to look realistic without anyone getting hurt? Vicki jumps in to the driving seat and, with the help of James Bond stunt engineers, reveals all in a spectacular stunt of her own.

Elsewhere, Tiff Needell and Jason Plato take the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to the track in the most exciting race Fifth Gear has ever held. Both of these super saloons have more than 400bhp, and to find out which is best the boys go bumper-to-bumper around the highspeed Silverstone circuit. Watching them drifting the cars just inches from each other and hitting more than 130mph on the straights is thrilling stuff – and there are only a couple of unplanned detours on to the grass!

As well as presenting the spectacular, this series of Fifth Gear also ensures there is plenty of information about the sort of cars that people actually buy. Tom Ford tests the latest Toyota Landcruiser, the favourite car of the United Nations, to see if this latest version is up to the rigorous demands of the peace-keeping task force.

Jonny Smith drives the new Mazda 2 to find out if it is the best small car on sale today.

Finally, Vicki Butler-Henderson visits the Anglesey test track for another Shoot-Out, this time between the Renault Clio 197 and the incredible Rage Buggy – a £23,000 big boys’ toy that gets to 60mph in around three seconds. But will it be quicker than a real car?

Who do you think is going to drive the M3 or C63? I'm thinking Tiff in the C63 and Jason in the M3. Would be hilarious if he dressed up like an M3 driver images/smilies/smile.gif eg clarkson

that's suitable. But i think Jason drove the M3 CSL against tiff in the Audi RS4 a few seasons ago.

^^^ Yeah, but it was just a normal M3 cs.

But yeah, Can't wait for the M3 segment, It will kill the C63 easily around a track as Top Gear has proved....I hope.

Yes because the "barrel roll" in Casino Royale was very realistic indeed.. I wouldn't want to drive a DBS if it rolled just by doing an evasive manouver. Or.. I would actually, because it looks good. And that's nice.

Can't wait for the new series to begin, it'll be nice with something inbetween TG seasons.

Cobol74 really looks forward to this one. I like the shootouts and a bit of an BMW M3 and the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG comparison, well, it never hurt anyone.
