Quote:
More motoring thrills and spills as Fifth Gear continues its 13th series, with Vicki Butler-Henderson, Tom Ford, Tiff Needell, Jason Plato and Jonny Smith at the helm. This week, Tom tests Jaguar’s make-or-break executive saloon, the XF. Tiff concludes Fifth Gear’s look at the Nascar 500 by driving one of the 200mph race cars. Vicki pushes Bentley’s 200mph Continental GT Speed to the limit. And Jason finds out if the Lotus Elise SC, the first model to be fitted with a supercharger, is the best version ever.

This week, Tom Ford gets his hands on one of the most eagerly anticipated cars of the year – the Jaguar XF. This executive saloon is vital to the manufacturer’s survival, and to see how this sleek vehicle measures up, Tom takes it to the people of Britain. What will the nation decide?

The Daytona 500 is one of the world’s greatest races, and this year marks its 50th anniversary. In last week’s Fifth Gear, Tiff Needell and Jonny Smith went behind the scenes and watched the spectacular race unfold. This week’s programme completes Fifth Gear’s unique celebration of the event as Tiff gets behind the wheel of one of the 200mph cars.

With a top speed of 200mph, the Continental GT Speed is Bentley’s fastest-ever production car. Vicki Butler-Henderson puts the £137,500 machine through its paces to discover if it offers the best possible combination of sumptuous luxury, nimble handling and epic performance.

Elsewhere, Jason Plato casts his eye over the Lotus Elise. The Elise has earned a reputation for being one of the quickest sports cars around, with quality handling adding to its dexterity. Now it is available with a supercharger, giving the £32,000 SC model levels of performance usually seen in top-of-the-range supercars. Jason takes the vehicle to the track to find out if this is the finest car that Lotus has ever produced.

Also this week, Vicki Butler-Henderson heads off to Anglesey for another Fifth Gear shoot-out. This week the stars of show are two hot hatches that are also suitable for the family: the VW Golf GTi and Subaru Impreza WRX. But which is quickest?

Finally they test the Jaguar XF and Tiff in a stock car will be brilliant!
This series of Fifth Gear has been the best in the shows history, I would say.

Well Done Fifth Gear! images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
