ok.. i watched all six latest fifth gear episodes.. am i the only one who is really getting pissed off and annoyed at this tim shaw guy? he's not funny, carries this arrogant, cocky demeanor and doesn't add anything in terms of expertise, educated insight or personality to the show.

this week.. he made some really lame a$$ comment saying the best thing on the new aston martin vantage is some stupid ipod feature... he should be taken outside and SHOT for that comment alone!!! i'd rather have johnny smith take his place or have tom hosting the show alone.
secondly, looking like tom ford's skinnier, younger brother doesn't help him or the show at all.

i think a lot of people compare tim shaw to the awful lovejoy host a couple seasons ago, so people tolerate him.. i mean, syphilis is worse than hemorrhoids but that doesn't mean you'd want either of them.

That said, I agree that FG probably didn't need another host. Johnny or Vicky would have been just fine.

Yep youre one of the few that dislikes Tim, enjoy your eliteness.

about the ipod comment,

1. its scripted, so if you want anyone shot, its the script writer, not the guy who says it, learn how the television making process works

2. you're overreacting, get your panties unbunched

3. i kind of agree with the comment, its a normal person's response to a geeky fanboy comment 'oooh! look what the aston does with my ipod', while its kind of cool....it's really not. so your reaction demonstrates what end of the spectrum you lie on

4. you're overreacting, find a real issue to be upset about


I agree tho there are too many presenters on the show and if any excess baggage that needs to go, its one of the racing drivers.

I just want them both to take their legs off the fucking table and never put them there again (see episode 1). Otherwise my cockometer might blow up.
Other than that, they're overacting a bit, but the content is fine. I liked how Tim was flirting with the girls in the tax segment Was quite funny actually. So: easier on the scripting, less overacting and it'll be brilliant!

In my opinion Tim Shaw doesn't fit in the Fifth Gear team at all. He attempts to be "the funny guy" but to me that place is already taken by Tom Ford. I don't think he is that funny at all on Fifth Gear and should have just stayed on Balls of Steel instead (he doesn't try too hard there).

I quite liked him (Tim Shaw) to be honest. I have liked this series of Fith Gear too - a worthy waste of an hour on a miserable Monday.

Don't get me wrong, the series as a whole has been a great success. I just really dislike Tim Shaw. I think it probably has something to do with me not being at all used to him having a sensible role so I just see him as "that guy from Balls of Steel". This theory could explain why he seems to be very popular with people overseas.

I'm not a fan of Tim's work on FG so far - I don't see that he's really bringing anything worthwhile to the show. All of his hosting & pieces could have been done much better by Johnny.

Wait a minute...so what you're actually saying is that you seriously believe that Mr. Shaw compiled a list of his favorite attributes of the new Aston Martin Vantage, rated them from least favorite to most favorite, noticed that there were the most points awarded for the iPod thing, and said, "Well, there you go. Mathematically, this is my favorite aspect of the car, and the one I shall bring up on the show when asked my opinion of the best aspect of the car."

It couldn't possibly be that he was just being silly, and amused by something simple and amusing (when every other car show/magazine/article will be talking about the new engine, the freshened interior, and all of the other non-news information one could get from their manufacturer's pamphlet).

I can appreciate that he actually has some sort of knowledge of cars, compared to that rape/slaughter/oil spill/famine/trainwreck of the season that was co-hosted by Tim Lovejoy. At least his personality doesn't make me cringe.

Tim is cool. I think he fits in nicely. At first it was like we had another Jonny but it now seems he's evolving into something different.

I agree that if someone has to go, it's either Tiff or Jason, since they're both racing drivers, and who needs 2 of the same?
