Default How did you come to watch Fifth Gear?

I have a feeling this might not be nearing as interesting... but like the other thread, how did u come to watch fifth gear?

I only watched fifth gear cuz top gear was off the air and i needed a fix of cars presented in a british accent... lol only except fifth gear is no where as exciting as top gear, imo.

I stumpled upon it on this site, actually. The names Tiff Needell and Vick Butler-Henderson were familiar to me from old Top Gear, plus Jason Plato, a genuine BTCC driver as additional presenter... so I checked it out.

I also started to watch it to cure my fix for a car show while TG was on break. But I knew it wasn't as good as TG from the start so I went through on this site and look at the episode descriptions and first downloaded and watched the episode with the Audi R8 and 911 Carrera 4S. Best dog-fight ever. Then I went through and just watched the dog fights... now I usually watch most of the episodes.

Bumped into it; like the Gadget show (really good and recommended btw) - Channel 5 used to be really crap and titillation after 23:00 hrs, its gotten better.

The only car show in my country at the time, and the first episode was with the BMW 5, when Tom said it was ugly. I was glad that I wasn't the only one with that opinion.

Began watching it again when I became a member of the big finalgear family images/smilies/wink.gif

Fixed to correct your true meaning and I completely agree with you. Same reason I watch FG, that and they cover so many more cars per series than TG can even hope to. The list of desirable/interesting cars is extensive.

I started watching just because I knew Fifth Gear would give me more car reviews. It was better than watching Motorweek so I stuck with it. images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I watch Discovery Channel allot so that's how I came across the show. I have allways been a car nut, so when I saw Tiff doing what he does best I was instantly hooked.images/smilies/smile.gif After a few years I came across Top Gear in the same way, but never liked it that much.images/smilies/tongue.gif

I saw this guy driving a CL65 in Monaco. It was something different to TG so I googled it. I don't watch it often anymore, just watch specific bits on youtube.

I knew Tiff & Vicki from the very old days of Top Gear, which BBC World used to broadcast in Australia back in the day.

When TG folded, Vicki and Tiff went to Fifth Gear, so I tracked down as many dl's of the show as possible and still continue to do so. As luck would have it, Fifth Gear is aired on Australian pay TV and has been for quite a number of years, although it is heavily edited.

I very much enjoy TG and Fifth Gear & feel we are very lucky to have both.

Cheers.

almost a decade ago.. when this internet thing was just a fad. someone sent me this insane video of this crazy old british guy doing amazing things in an BMW M5. apparently he went so fast he was able to initiate his flux capacitor and went back to the future onto a program called fifth gear.

+ YouTube Video

never seen such a car program that pushed its cars to the limit while being shot and presented in a creative way. i was hooked ever since.
