Random clips from the internet, then full shows from this site many years ago. Back when it was actually good. Still watch it just because monday evening is boring.

Once upon a time there was a show called Top Gear. One day it went away, but most of the team went to Channel Five and 5th Gear was born and I started watching it because I missed 'old' Top Gear, and in all but name, that's pretty much what 5th Gear was, with lots of familiar names and faces behind and in front of the cameras. Then they had a row with the BBC over intellectual property and had to alter the name to Fifth Gear and I still watched it.

Then Top Gear came back and it was very different from how it used to be, and very different from Fifth Gear. Now I happily watch both images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Through finalgear.com... I watch Fifth Gear because Top Gear isn't broadcast 24/7/365. Which is a shame.

Can't remember for sure, but I would think the first encounter was that 80's special which featured a e21 323i. As I own one I was probably looking for any clips that featured one.. Somehow it developed from there and after I'd watched some episodes randomly I saw that 200mph Lotus challenge. Followed the series regularly since.

Before I came across FinalGear I looked at TG episodes on youtube (BBC2 wasn't availble on digital-tv here untill a month ago or so) And I was running out of clips to watch so I clicked on a FG vid (the 335i vs S5 dogfight) and I rather liked it, not in such a way that I like TG but I enjoyed watching the dogfights between Jason and Tiff.
So after a while then I started to download the FG episodes too here on FinalGear and now I watch both shows images/smilies/smile.gif

When I bought my car lol. Jeremy Clarkson's review of the Nissan 350z was dumb enough to make me car-rage; Tiff and Vick's review of the Zed was much better by comparison and they actually drove it like a sports car instead of bitching about a subwoofer during city driving.

Tiff is also a hell of a lot better driver than any other motoring presenter; you won't see anyone else racing in the events like he does. That one Fifth Gear feature where Tiff was driving a racing Aston Martin was particularly excellent.

Having said that I don't really watch 5th Gear except for the occasional video link especially if its a car I'm interested in.

The show hype the program alot and then the actual thing lasted for lets say 3 minutes... where is the fun in that?!

Btw who is that fake jeremy wannabe?

I saw old Top Gear and saw Tiff Needell, and VBH driving. I wondered what happened to them, as I liked their presenting style. When I found out I started watching Fifth Gear.

I stumbled upon some Fifth Gear clips when I was killing time looking through Top Gear clips on my phone's youtube viewer.

Thought "what's this?" and kept clicking through until I saw one of the bits where they gave one of their presenters driving lessons, which was hilarious. Must. Find. Moar!

Saw bits and pieces of it on the Lifestyle Channel on Foxtel. Sadly, I popped my Fifth Gear cherry before Top Gear!

I used to watch clips on a website called RacingFlix and then I finally discovered that the clips were from a show called Fifth Gear.

I watched old TG on BBC World on Foxtel, so I was familiar with Tiff & VBH, & one day I saw an ad for Fifth Gear on Lifestyle on Foxtel & started watching it that way. I eventually shifted to near real time viewing via my ADSL2+ antenna.images/smilies/think.gif
