IT WAS A REAL DEGREE and the only reason that happened is because someone who owns a Prius was pissed off about him. He was still humourous about it responding to being pied with "Great shot''! Never see Tiff being humorous just a little bit gay.

Clarkson's degree in engineering was an honorary one (not a "real" one) given to him for promoting engineering through his journalism. Clarkson is not an engineer.

You are right Tiff is not humorous, he is a completely serious killing machine. He did punch Clarkson's decapitated head right in the face during one of his M5 reviews.
