Default Rate Fifth Gear Season 13

So, overall, what did you think of this season of Fifth Gear?

I was tempted to make this poll 1-5, but then everyone would probably voted 4, so I thought I'd leave it spread out a bit. images/smilies/wink.gif

I wanted to see them review the new CTS so badly.

I thought the 5th Gear crew did quite a good job over the 10 episodes that were season 13.

So, 8.5 from me (rounded to a 9 for the poll).

Cheers.

Haven't seen the last ep yet, but the series gets an eight from me. Really enjoyed it (and series twelve), the show's improved enormously and they seem to finding their place. The production quality's also improved.

Previously I'd watch Fifth Gear because it was okay, and because Top Gear wasn't on, but now I watch it for itself - it's a damn good show.

This season definitely deserve an 8. They're new format is good. It has more car reviews and less celeb chats. Even some of the celeb challenges are mildly entertaining. I hope they keep this format for the future seasons. Now I can watch Fifth Gear for car reviews, and Top Gear for challenges and just those epic races.

Exactly. As I've said before, it's a ying and a yang. Top Gear is getting less and less informational, but more and more funny. Fifth Gear on the other hand is losing the retarded stuff and getting more to the point with great, entertaining reviews.

Eight from me also. Glad to see they're leaving the silly stuff to the experts at TG and sticking to what they do best which is testing cars. I thought the show was finished when they brought in Lovejoy, but it's now recovered and is as good as it's ever been. Good work North One.

I loved all the Tiff v. Jason sequences. They give each other such a hard time...

I gave it a solid 7. Would have been an 8 or 9 if it hadn't been for those ridiculous celebrity segments. Great job to the whole Fifth Gear team though.

It gets an 8 from me as well. The pace of the show was excellent this series. Almost all the segments got to the point right away and no silly banter and filler was used. The show felt far more natural and the regular segments were consistent and well done. Vicky did a great job this series and works well with Tom and he stepped it up a notch. Jason was good but I like it when he's a little more brutal or stark with his reviews, he seems to have mellowed a bit. Tiff, well I hope he gets a little more involved in series 14, not much more, but at times it felt as if he phoned in his reviews and wasn't interested. Johnny was good, a definite improvement and his TATA bit was great and I really appreciated his thoughts on Toyota, well done all.

For the first time they topped top gear in my eyes, if they keep it up like this for a few more seasons i might just stop watching the BBC2 show altogether.

10/10

I'd give it a 9.

I'd like to see what Fifth Gear would do with their current style format, but with TopGear's budget.

Not quite a 9 - so a solid 8 overall. They have a decent set of presenters and they have 'cut the crap' this series. Production values on the way up, now just some decent music - the camera work is really good IMHO.

The beginning of this season was more or less the first time I really starting watching fifth gear. As of right now I've seen most of the epsiodes from the past 3 or 4 seasons. I'm kind of working my way backwards... and stringing together my favorite clips into one big super episode. All the clips are by either Jason or Tiff or both. I love the dog fights.

oh yeah I gave it an 8

I'm giving it 7/10. For it to get anything over that, it would have to be more memorable, and it isn't quite there yet. But certainly a quality program again, which is good to say!

And I can't believe Fifth Gear FINALLY found some stability to their program!!! There was a time when they were chopping and changing everything all the time. I don't think they'll change much for the next series.

Things they could do:
1. No Vicki...just no.
2. Stop talking up Tiff before his reviews "ZOMG ITS TEH TIFFF!1!!!1!!"
3. If they're going to try something "entertaining" to review a car...try use it to actually make a point about the car, and not just detract from the car itself and confuse viewers.
4. Heck, bring back John Bentley! Weirdly enough, I grew to like his segments just before the last series he appeared in.
