It even explains this in the description for the torrent on Mininova. images/smilies/wink.gif

Anyone else take notice that all the m00tv rips have absolutely HORRENDOUS audio quality? images/smilies/sad.gif Sounds like "Bass Boost" is on. images/smilies/no.gif

What makes it worse, is that the m00tv rips make up the majority of the pack. Episodes 4x03 - 4x10 are all m00tv rips. Any chance we could get VFUA to do the lot of those? Or someone else willing to spend some time on it? If not, I'll have to revert back to the old rips at 300mb. They at least had proper audio quality.

You must be on crack. All the old VUK rips for Season 4 were in mono (except 04X01). The new rips sound great, they're in stereo, and I hear no added "bass". I would check your media player settings.

Yeah, I noticed the audio bitrate wasn't that high, but I can deal with it in exchange for the better video quality.

Seeing as how these rips / episodes are over 4 years old, I don't see how that's possible unless you have a time machine. images/smilies/wink.gif

WTF? Look at the bitrates and mono vs. stereo:

Anyone care to share their settings on Media Player Classic, to run the m00tv files properly? I've tried modifying settings across several codecs unsuccessfully. images/smilies/sad.gif

I tested the video files in WMP11 and Winamp with success on the audio front, so I'm sure it's something stupid in Media Player Classic that's holding me back. Unfortunately, I prefer this media player for it's versatility, so I'd ideally like to have the settings match the files properly so I don't need to worry about the audio playback.

EDIT:
If anyone knows of a solid external filter that will help the audio come through properly, please let me know.

Eh? Installing ffdshow should make it play in any application.

Oh, it plays without visual errors, just the audio is distorted/loud in Media Player Classic.

Hmm, that shouldn't happen. Check MPC's settings?

Nothing special here except a volume boost so that quiet TV shows and movies are the same volume as the rest of my computer.

After manipulating my settings to match those, the audio sounded better... but still sounds distorted as if recorded improperly. I did a test with WMP11 and they still sound fine through that. images/smilies/sad.gif As much as I hate to say it... it looks like there's something wrong either with my codecs or with the MPC itself. I'm going to re-install my codecs and MPC to see if that doesn't clear things up. If unsuccessful, I guess I'll have to start using WMP11 as my main media player. :S

Thank JEBUS! It was a broken DirectShow codec. images/smilies/smile.gif Beautiful audio has returned!

Good thing I came here first, to make sure it was just me who was having issues. images/smilies/wink.gif

Thanks guys.
