No Top Gear Australia 01x07 Torrent Yet

A rip has been put out by PiX, but I haven't managed to get my hands on it yet. There are a few x264 rips out there, but I don't want to use those as I'd have to walk a million people through the codecs.

Just be patient and go watch Top Gear 12x02 again or something meanwhile.

To anyone looking to get the X.264 rips (they are easy to find on any decent torrent search site, including Mininova) and having codec problems, search for the K-Lite codec pack.

There are versions for any viable operating system, although if you're running WMP11 on Vista or XP with a live internet connection (90% of people), it will obtain most codecs, and certainly that one, by itself.

EDIT: The quality of the X.264 rips I have is not great - I'll be getting the PIX release when it is out. I am a bit obsesive about that kind of thing though...

I can't find any of them on mininova. Could you please post a link to one of the x.264 torrents that you've found?

One question I always wondered was.. if the rip is "out there", what does that mean? Wouldn't the group responsible for ripping it be the ones sharing it as well?

Links are not allowed, i did it the other day and it was disallowed...

They may have been blitzed from the site as they are low quality and not scene (unlikely on mininova), however i can still find them, just search for "topgear 1x07" or "top gear 1x07" and they are in the first few results.

Nope, no hits on thepiratebay (as well as all the other good Torrent search sites) for "topgear 1x07" or "top gear 1x07" Same thing for:

or any other combination. It just doesn't exist as of this moment. Maybe it did in the past, and maybe it will in the future, but for now it's not available. Check for yourself.

yeah i tried looking everywhere for it too, it seems viper and dvr have god-like searching abilities or maybe we're just blind.

Scene groups upload their releases to private FTP's. In addition to the reputation they get for it, they get "points" to download other releases (or something like that).

The problem for us is that the Scene (in general) hates P2P and us sharing their rips. Releases have to get "leaked" to P2P sites. I don't have Scene FTP access and cannot do that. I rely on others doing that and uploading them to a few private torrent sites I have an account on. I then download that private torrent, retorrent the file for us, and release.

Any delays in any part of that chain (Scene group, release spreading, private torrent being released) delays me.
