For all of you that want to play this video, check if your video card supports H.264 hardware encoding and apply this guide: http://nunnally.ahmygoddess.net/watc...os-using-dxva/

bumpidy bump

I've finally finished downloading the 7GB torrent (thanks people for seeding) and it's lagging on my MacBook Pro . First, the video was playing at something like 10-15 FPS, so I went through updating Perian (to 1.1.4), and VLC (to 1.0.1), now majority of the lag is gone, but it still lags a bit, which gets quite annoying.

All other 1080p video I've played so far on this computer were fine, expect for this one.. Anybody has any other suggestions? Seems like I'll have to be settling for the 720 rip instead..

Specs: MacBook Pro, C2D@2.2 Mhz, 4GB RAM, GeForce 8600M GT with 128MB Ram.

You got proper AVC drivers? Does CoreAVC even exist for OSX? Or does quicktime run all AVC video?

I've found that coreavc plays H.264 vids a lot better than ffdshow. If you have a machine fast enough, it's great, cause you have all codecs/filters in one neat program, but on my previous machine I couldn't play 720p H.264 with ffdshow alone.

I'm not sure, tbh. I'm using Perian as the main codec for everything, but Quicktime cannot play mkv files. So I'm using VLC as the player for that. But, I'll search around for CoreAVC for Mac and let you guys know, if it works.

There must be something wrong with the codecs, because, when I try playing 1080p trailers from Apple website, they play without any lagging.

Has anyone converted this 1080p file with mkv2vob for use in the PS3? If the converted file is too big I might stick with the 720p rip.

Hey guys, I am dowloading the 720p version now, I hope it works well, but I have a problem with North Pole Special, so if you encode with the same tool I will have a problem with this download too. I can play NPS on my computer, thank you very much. But I want to play it on my Blu-ray player as well. It does not understand Matroska, so I demuxed it with mkvextract. It demuxed, but tsMuxer does not accept the ac3 track, it says it cannot get stream type. So does Sony Vegas Pro. On another hand, Media Player Classic as well as WMP 11 can play it fine. I wanted to convert it to a "proper" ac3 whatever it is, but I could not find a suitable app. MPC does not re-encode, while Winamp crashes when I install ac3tools for WinAmp. So I am in a bind. I have a working m2ts with video only, but cannot get sound to work. I need to mux it back into m2ts to be able to watch it on my blu-ray player. Any advice?

HOW TO TRANSCODE HD MKV FILES FOR USE WITH YOUR XBOX360 / PS3

i didn't bother reading all 12 pages of this thread, but i thought many people would come in here asking this question, now that S14E01 is out as a 720p/MKV fille (why no love for the MP4, scene rippers?)

all you need it GOTSent

http://anonymity.com/?http://sentry23.googlepages.com/

it works like a charm, and is idiot-proof

Give the guys some money for their hard work (and Richard Hammond's mental anguish). Get a nice slip cover with artwork. Extended and deleted scenes. 1080p.
