Aussie FG meetup! (melbourne)

I'm wondering how many people would be interested in melbourne meetup (or close to melbourne)

I'm up for idea's on what we could do, i'm thinking a bbq or something similar (we are australian after all images/smilies/wink.gif

)

Harlequin a fellow melbournite has already expressed interest images/smilies/smile.gif

so post here if you're interested

Why not do something involving Motorsport, like getting a group together and booking a box at the Grand Prix or at a V8 event?

It would take a lot more planning and some really motivated people but if you made it a day trip you could probably find a place that's about equal distance from all the capitals and have an all lower states (we're mostly melbourne, sydney and adelaide anyway) people would probably want to car pool for that as well (which I'd be more than happy to do for melbourners images/smilies/wink.gif

or a go karts event? driving interstates a bit hard, university/school/university/family and work might be restraints for people, could have sycronised events in each states?

Seems to be alot of ppl on this board from Adelaide so maybe we could all head down to go-karts or mallala or something.. eh random ideas images/smilies/tongue.gif

It's going to be quite hard to get an Aussie Meetup, would probably be best with state meetups or a big function like mentioned above (f1, motogp, v8 etc)

Could even do a cruise day... (recently did a fantastic loop around Colac and Apollo Bay with the WRX club)

Gepps Cross or something? Could go the laser skirmish as well then.

I'll probably go to the Clipsal again next year, but unlikely to get out to the Grand prix or anywhere unfortunately images/smilies/sad.gif

I'm definetly in... we could do a cruise/bbq thing down great ocean road... or the other direction towards yarra valley... GOR is good for the views and drive but loads of cops, Yarra has less cops but might not be as good to drive.

but if we do GOR, if we get to 12 Apostles, I'm sure certain adelaide people (don't know how to call them images/smilies/tongue.gif

) can get there, I would guess equal distance.... IIRC, the Nurburgring cruise had people driving for like 3-4 hours to get there

i'm coming to australia on november 7th and staying there for two months, if the meet-up will be then you can count me in!
edit: i will be in sydney though, i'm hoping there will be an easy way for me to get there.

I'm not sure about dates yet, but melbourne is around 800km from sydney (depending where you measure from - both cities are spread out)
