It' about an hour for me, and I think I should be able to save up 70 dollars by then. I might try to get a third to come as well.

Put me down as a maybe. Anybody know of decent hotels in that area so that I could stay for one night before making the 8 hour trek back?

I'll have to either take the bus or do a Top Gear-esque cheap car challenge of my own, either way I'll be there!

also, the Aussie have their own cool meetup poster. Someone needs to fix that, by which I mean make us a better one!

One of my coworkers went and said it was great. He luckily doesn't have to work on Fridays. I am still working on taking this day off for the meet up.

It is the long weekend because I would get both Friday and Monday off.

Hi there. Just registered...

I will definitely be there. The week before that, I will actually be there for the BMW CCA Driver's School. I am obsessed with Lime Rock. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

Expect arrival in a red 1987 BMW 325.

Found some stuff from when I went a few years ago. Unfortunately, that day I decided to take my video camera instead of the photo one. The video is horrible and over an hour and a half in length so its not going online, unless I ever get around to editing it (doubtful). Here are some stills taken from said video though:

and last but not least, here's good ol' me almost getting hit in the face:

After watching bits of that film, I really really want to go again this year.

EDIT: btw, where are FGers meeting up exactly? And at what time, 12?

Specifics have been added to the first post. Parking will be erratic, so our cars will be separated. But physically, we'll meet in the outfield at this building. It'll be right near outfield parking off of Rt. 112.

I'll supply my phone number in the coming days in case some of us get stranded elsewhere, and more details to follow. And if you can think of better ideas, do tell! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Lastly, who wants to throw down some cash and become a member? We can sign up and get an FG membership, it's only $110,000...images/smilies/unsure.gif

They had a guy on a bike (yes, the one in the picture) doing stunts after the races. He was doing burnouts and wheelies and got really, and I mean really close to the guardrail behind which the spectators were standing... and he popped a wheelie seen in the pic. I wasnt zoomed in at all so yes, his front wheel was pretty close to my nose.

I've never spectated there before; I was in the pits every time I was there. Are we going down through the main gate in front of the complex a little bit farther down than their office would be? I know there's a little building they call an office as you come down Rt. 112...

The main entrance, according to the official website, is on White Hollow Rd. We'll be at the outfield entrance.

Oh, just thought I'd add, there's no such thing as a "local establishment" near Lime Rock, lol.

There are plenty of great bars in Torrington and Litchfield if you guys want to stop by there. Depending on what time you guys go by there I can stop by after work. Once you guys have a final number of people I can recommend some places but just in general for Pizza I recommend either...

Bohemian Pizza

Which is right in Litchfield

Berkshire Cafe which is less then five minutes from my house The Berkshire is stumbling distance from my house if necessary. Their demographic does lean to the older side so maybe not right for the majority of us.

Then there are many great bars right in downtown torrington, although some are a bit pricey, and a little farther east down 202 there are a few more chain type places including an Applebees images/smilies/rolleyes.gif Although I have to say Applebees is one of the few chain places I generally like.

I can definitely help set this up depending on how many people plan to show up and what time you want to do it.
