No, I'm giving it a miss. It's a big cruise with a few FG members tagging rather than an FG meet - I'm not really interesting in a cruise of this size on those roads amongst people I don't know.

I understand, its just hard to resist such a diverse group of cars going for a weekend drive. In the future, before the weather cools down (Marchish) i'd really like to organize a Sunday of Go-Karting (or something similar), dinner and some sunset and night photoshoot for FG members only.

Shane, Alex and I did a bit of a recon run down there yesterday and I think I'll make a couple of changes to the route. Provided it meets with the forum's approval of course. The route we did yesterday was just too good, it's shorter by about 100km and seems to be a better mix of 'Great Ocean Rd and Otways'.
See it here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sadd...4,2.460938&z=9 Thoughts? Added Geelong meet info to first post

What about doing this? At least we won't have to repeat any sections of the road and back-trek, I've also tried to use as little of the M1 as possible by further using the smaller A roads.

no, the back tracking is there for a reason, you've cut out the best road on the drive.
And I'm pretty sure part of the road from Lavers Hill to Forrest is dirt.

ooh... then we better leave it as it is. Since we cut our Colac, I guess we would stop for Fuel at BP in Geelong on the way out or in, I assume there would be one along the main road?

Shouldn't be a problem with fuel, yesterday i did it melbourne to geelong in the GT-R (remember how thirsty the bloody thing is?), however if you are worried we can stop at the big BPs on the freeway at Lara just before geelong. There's also a few servos on the way through geelong for a top up.
