Bad news for me too. As I've discovered, I can't go to Germany with Finnish temporary number plates. Which I will have to use before I get the car registered, and I can't do it until customs decide on the tax for me. The decision can take months, and the chance for it to arrive before August is slim.

I guess there's a possibility to get German yellow 5-day plates (Kurzzeitkennzeichen) which would allow me to drive in Germany, but... those are banned from the 'ring. This is all very depressing images/smilies/sad.gif

Considering skipping the meet... Anyone has a solution?

Oh, you mean Germans will close their eyes on such tiny offense? Because as we know they are very lax about rules and regulations... images/smilies/tongue.gif

I guess the only way is trying to sneak on to the ring with yellow plates. But that's one hell of a risk, driving thousands of km, paying up to thousand of eur, just to be turned around at the gate. Oh, and haven't even figured out yet how would one get yellow plates without being a resident in Germany.
