I stopped after 100WU's finished last year. It's too much of a resource hog and it skyrockets your CPU temps, thereby shortening it's life.

I don't. Even though it's set on uber low priority, Windows just won't drop it quick/well enough to avoid lag in my games and such.

No, not really I don't think. I should probably kill this forum and move all it's threads into "Technology".

I just leave it folding while i'm not using it, which is most of the time images/smilies/biggrin.gif. I've been busy recently and haven't had a chance to watch any movies or play any games :-\

Just run one process? If I remember right it will only use one core, so it should be less annoying that way.

so just FYI, our team is ranked 898th of folding teams, which is impressive considering we only have 6 active users.

I used to fold on my old computer but I had no way of reading the temps on that computer and so when I got my current one and could see the temps soar when I ran it it scared the poop out of me. It was also heating up only one core since it was only using one core and I got worried that the uneven heating would hurt my CPU.

I was going to start folding again with my video card, but it turns out F@H stopped the support of the X1950 series in favor of Nvidia's cards. Oh well, I guess it's "The way it's meant to be folded" from now on. But I'm not going to spent another watt for this.

And If you have Nvidia (for PPD sake) or ATI card - you can put them to work!

Mine 8800GTS 640 is capable of 4700ppd! And 8600GT in my server adding 1450ppd to overal score xD We're entering GPU computing era.

Screw listening to the noisy fan on my graphics card though. It's a mini-wind tunnel when it turns up!

Although I did install it on my PS3, although I don't leave it idle much. It's just when I forget and leave it on.

Regardless though, all this extra computing adds up to real money. I've read reports of like $50/year and screw that. That's 1/2 a new hard drive!
