We need more people: Incentive!

Hey fellow folders,

I think there's got to be a way to get more people doing this. We have quite a huge community here, so I was thinking we should introduce some sort of incentive to run F@H for the users.

I'm thinking maybe some sort of link to the rep system as a function of score, or some mention of it in the profile/sig. These are just rough ideas, but I'd like to open it up to discussion, cause there is loads of potential, and people rarely do stuff if they don't get anything back.

It can only have a positive effect cause people like us who do it anyway will continue, but more will join.

Any ideas on this?

I just joined up with my computer at work. I will sign up my home computers later this evening.

It is starting to get cold here with winter approaching... That means I start the heater! (aka F@H)

Not kidding, last winter I had my computer folding all day and it was warm enough in my room that I didn't have to start the heating

I was on another team last year, but this year I chose to join the FG team!

My PCs ran Seti@home until a few years ago, but since all newer cpus power down when idling I no longer see the point of running an app that causes full load. Back in the days when cpus where running at full speed all the time it didn't really matter but now even my quad runs at 800 mhz when idling which means it consumes much less power and dissipates such a small amount of heat that the fan only turns at ~800 rpm and the whole thing is pretty much silent. With the introduction of features like cool&quiet I thought projects like seti@home would get into trouble...

My video card is in the process of being replaced (after a fan death), so my folding power has decreased greatly until I get the replacement back.
