to make it simple... its just using your computer power to help R&D for chemical and medical uses.... I think... but I'm too lazy to do any research... its 9:40 and I'm already thinking about going to bed images/smilies/lol.gif

na... thankfully not much bandwidth is used... it only uses bandwidth when you finish a work-unit and have to uploaded it and download a new one.

No, I think that if a dead section gets a certain amount of new posts within a certain period of time, it becomes active again. Maybe that is the case. Or Ren's skills faulted.
