So it's like Bjork or Amy Winehouse through good speakers?

Double Espresso or Vienna for me (For those not in the know, its a double espresso with a generous dash of cream on top).

Well I have my previous coffee posts scattered around here, here it is about the 20K Coffee Machine: http://forums.finalgear.com/off-topi...-coffee-24827/
and then a place that serves coffee in Martini glass
http://forums.finalgear.com/off-topi...-places-26376/

As for my favorite places to get coffee, in the city its 3 places, Ritual Roasters http://www.ritualroasters.com/ , Blue Bottle Coffee http://www.bluebottlecoffee.net/ and Philz Coffee (which Blind_IO is always talking about) http://www.philzcoffee.com/ . There are other places as well I go to for coffee, but those 3 are ones I like to hit up if I have the time.

As for what I make at home, well, I pick a simple french press because it gives you that strong flavor without going the whole 9 yards with a espresso machine. And beans, to tell you the truth I always try something different from the those local coffee shops as they have a collection of beans they roast. But for basic store bought I guess it would be Sumatra or Illy's Medium Roast.

I have never had Indian Coffee before as my family is original from India (before the partition) but came from the middle/northern parts where coffee is not drinking as much as Tea is. But I would love to try Indian coffee, I just need to find a place here that does that =D.

wooflepoof,
You do know where those beans come from right... I love coffee, but, not that far.
I just came here to mention Philz Coffee and Soap Box for a moment about how much Starbucks sucks big salty camel scrotum.

In fact, I think I would rather do that than drink what they pass off as coffee.

I agree with the Amy Winehouse bit at least, don't remember what Bjork is like.

Yah....it's a Canadian chain that has a about 100 locations in the northern states. I mean, it's the very fabric of Canadiana.

^ Aw, sucks for most of America then. There's one down the street from the school and everyone goes there after exams and everything. Great way to make a day much less suck.

So my doctor tells me not to have caffeine anymore because I'm prone to get hypertension like my dad and his dad.

Yeah....

RIGHT!

I'm totally getting coffees from real cafe's now. I've given up Sbux cold turkey and haven't had it for the last 2.5 months. I used to go almost twice every day to sbux back in Berkeley. I realized I only went there because my roommate pressured me to. In reality, espressos and white mochas etc are made better in traditional cafes than in an sbux or even a peets. Who's with me?

^ I am.

That sucks though. If my doctor told me to give up caffine I'd be like, "Noooooooo! My life is OVER!"

If you like coffee you need to brew it in a French Press once. I know it sounds like some sort of sexual position, but it makes the best coffee. Only use it with freshly ground beans.

You guessed it. Kyuu eff tee

Edit:

So I've had about 5 hours of sleep. My dad was on the family computer (same room as my room - we live in a 2 br apt. so there's kinda no choice) until 2 in the morning, and I couldn't sleep with the bright light from the monitor. I usually am good with 8-10. Not more not less. I know it's demanding and impossible in this busy and hectic lifestyle we all have to face in the world, but I just need that much, that's just my biology.

Anyways, I'm headed to the cafeteria to get something to either drink or eat, and this brought on a good question since I have a thread dedicated to each. Which is better for staying awake... coffee or candy/chocolates?

Chocolate covered coffee beans. These things fueled my all-nighters during university.
