R Schmacher is the one who will have the most problems with it off the line I think.

I am the Honda F1 team's number one fan.... and number 2, and number 3, and 4....
Alonso is going to need a G-suit with all the spinning he's going to do.![]()
R Schmacher is the one who will have the most problems with it off the line I think.

this is good news, I just hoped that it was implemented years ago when schumi was still in f1, at least know we'll see who's really a good driver.![]()

26Slicks doesn't automatically equate to faster times, its the rubber compounds that make the difference. The argument was that the grooved tires caused more graining which in turn caused more marbles off the racing line. A move back to slicks with harder compounds would not only mean slower times but hopefully eliminate the concerns I mentioned in the previous sentense. But all this is moot until the FIA changes its mind again, which they always seem to do.
0So since slicks have more grip and less graining, doesn't that make them safer?
Slicks encoruage diving into corners more. Less graining and more grip too, as Sausageman said.

No TC + *proper* manual gearbox + 1.5L V6 Turbo + rain =

I don't like Cheever, but the man could drive...
That's a truly great piece of driving there, his nerves must of been shot at the end of that day :O
God I love old F1

0i really actually want to watch F1, when does the rule change start? because i haven't payed any attention recently
throttle control is greatly related to driver feel, so whoever already knows that will probably be on top whether or not they rely on TC now or not. I would like to see Alonso crash though as in his interviews he pisses me off, or atleast did that one time when he said "yes its work" or something
you drive a fucking F1 car! be glad, of course its work sometimes, but that doesn't mean you have to be a baby about it, stupid. Just seemed ungrateful, and i wanted to knock his teeth out.
good point, they could use harder compounds to keep the cornering speeds down, and with less graining that leaves more of the track available for nailing overtakes in the corners.
still they need to sort out the aero on these cars, since they are difficult to follow into corners.
Imagine how cool it will be if we have Nurburgring conditions next year without the TC!!

an interview w/ wurz said that he downplayed the banning of TC and fans will be dismayed not to be able to see wheelspins and powerslides since TC implementation in F1 is different from that of road cars![]()

i like the sound of that

DAMMIT! This old thread keeps getting bumped, and I keep getting tricked. I get so excited, the title expresses the arrival of a much anticipated event, then when I find its this traction control shit again I'm crushed.
Yo! Jense already said himself that it's a big no-no, it's too fast or something.
I saw it on the Honda F1 website, there are so many funny things on that Honda Racing F1 team website, one is the name, its just too long. Another is this page. Notice how Honda haven't updated the driver standings since Race 5. I guess they gave up on 2007 that early.
There's a really cool thing on that page too, they've got a videos section, where they have this guy who does a section every week or so. So he goes and tests out the Honda F1 team's special custom made G-Force creating machine (personally I think they should have spent the money on repairing their wind tunnel), or interviews Jense about the next race. I especially like it when he interviews Jense or Barrichello because throughout the whole interview you can feel a 10,000 pound elephant in the room. That elephant's name is awkward.
So the focus of this guys interviews is often not towards the race, and that's why they started discussing Nordschleiffe instead of talking about how Jense was going to do in the EU GP.
19GP2 guys like Hamilton and Rosberg will definitely get the hang of it quicker. Sebastian Bourdais will also have the advantage. But overall things will stay the same cause you don't get to F1, the pinnacle of motorsports by not knowing how to drive without TC.
181Epic fail. I hate sites that rely too heavily on flash.Originally Posted by says Alistair Watkins, Marketing Director, Honda Racing F1 Team
Interesting to see that their championship tables reflects the 153 points McLaren should be on, assuming that you count the 15 points gained in Hungary. Even the McLaren site has the team on only 138.
