We know of Kimi's wild misadventures outside the F1 cockpit, but how does he compare to the first real "ambassador of bad behaviour" of F1, 1976 champion and BBC commentator James Hunt? Opinions expected... and appreciated.

I've been waiting for someone to make this thread.
First let's put both of their photos next to each other. ![]() ![]() Well they have no hesitation to show their anger if some driver does something wrong:
Both had funny/great moment in interviews:
Both made funny/cool commercials:
And both had their great moments on and off the track: ![]() (Note: in here I'm talking about the Sex: Breakfast of Champions badge) ![]()

James Hunt was crazier definitely. A James Hunt wouldn't even get to F1 these days. Kimi is definitely the better driver. But most of that is down to the passage of time. Drivers these days have to be more professional and focused. Kimi is definitely the James Hunt of his day, and its fair to say Kimi is a big fan of James. Remember the snowmobile enduro he entered (and won!!!) earlier this year under the name James Hunt! Shades of Gilles Villeneuve in there as well.

excellent post mate. Even though ive seen most of the videos on youtube, its great to see a back to back comparison of Hunt and Räikkönen.
Love 'em both, proper racers those two, unlike other F1 drivers.

haha, great posts! Kimi is King!! F1 needs someone like that. I think it was easier for Hunt, f1 wasn't so stuck up then.

Thought I'd throw this one into the mix as well. It's a new German commercial Kimi and Schuey have done for the Fiat Bravo.

That is absolutely brilliant!!!!!!! 10/10!!!! It seems every commercial relating to F1 turns to gold. The "I can do better" one earlier this year was fabulous, as was that one. The new 60 years of F1 Shell one is superb.

Too bad Ferrari were with AGIP for the better part of the 80s and 90s. They didnt mention that in the advert

Yeah, Marlboro and Shell were primary sponsors, at that time, for McLaren(!!!!!). Until 1996, when Shell returned to Ferrari.
