Default Lewis expects to be team leader?

Does this mean Lewis expects to be team leader next year even though he's been championing McLaren's equality policy all 2007? I wonder what Heikki (or Ron for that matter) thinks of this.

He was made "team leader" from Melbourne 2007. And don't give me all this "equality" bullsh**... McLaren did NOT treat their drivers equally overall throughout 2007. I dread to think what might happen to Heikki in that team; the no.2 position might ruin his career. And he's too nice a guy to deserve that.

Alonso got equal support. Don't give me this "moral support" bullshit because he should grow a pair if he needs everyone slapping him on his back to perform at his best.

If he is allowed by the team, let's encourage HK to do it.

Oh just shut up. Let's just call Alonso's 2007 season at McLaren "dubious" (there's something fishy in it, but I can't put my finger on what; and it's likely that it's on both sides).

There;s a thread for this...and it's obvious lewis is going to be the team leader in 08. In 2007 Fernando was in the way, and I'm sure McLaren will give the drviers equal support as always, but Hamilton is the leader now.

Heikki is a very good driver. But so are a lot of F1 drivers. He doesn't have that x factor that the greats have. Senna. Schumacher. Now Hamilton.

Are you trying to tell me that those people have secretly attended Simon Cowell's shows? images/smilies/lmao.gif

Seriously, Hamilton doesn't have what it takes to be a great driver. Sorry, but those are the cold hard facts.

(To quote HondaF1... Lewis is a knob)

Lewis is a knob.

Besides, its Honda you'll all be watching drive off into the distance, and Jenson will become the no.1 Brit driver again. (Although to me, he always was!)

Yeah, agreed - I mean a great driver would've beaten his two-time and current defending world champ in his rookie year. Oh wait...

So you are saying that Lewis isnt a great driver then cos he only equalled a two times world champion and blew a 20 point lead to lose the championship?

^ He beat Alonso on a countback, so yes, he beat the then current world champ, I'd say that's a sign of pretty damn skilled driver, albeit one who threw away a championship lead.

How can you question Hamiltons talent? He had a seriously impressive debut season. You might not like him, but you have to be blind to ignore his obvious driving skills. Yes, he threw the championship away, but it was still his first season. You can't expect him to be ice cold in a situation like that. Not as a rookie. But that'll come soon enough.

You don't think that's going over the top a little? I'm not denying that he has exceptional skill and great potential, but he's yet to reach the level of Schumacher or Senna.

Hamilton goes to bed at night hoping he will one day get to the level of Prost, Senna and Schumacher. He is nowhere near that level yet.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about equal treatment. At McLaren everyone gets EQUAL EQUIPMENT. But very few get equal treatment. It bothered Coulthard a lot and obviously bothered Alonso a lot too.

I do Think Hamilton is one of the greatest in F1 RIGHT NOW and I'am from Finland. Senna and Schumacher are still in their own league.
