We need two or three companies to sign up for 2011. Keep the current tire allocations in terms of numbers, but give us a tire war. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

My guess? Pirelli, Avon and maybe maybe maybe Michelin.

Why are Bridgestone pulling out? It all seems a bit sudden :\

And speaking of Pirelli, every time I hear "Pirelli" for some reason I keep hearing Jeremy Clarkson's voice in my head! o.O

You know what would be even better? If each grand prix hosting country provided local store-brand tyres for the whole grid. Bob Jane all rounders for the Aussie GP, Canadian Tire Motomaster for the Canadian GP, and so on. It will improve racing, and just think of the cost savings!

Whats wrong with them? Fairly reliable, good durability, and it's not as if I go out and drift around corners or drag race off the lights or anything.

On another note, 70% sale on selected items at the McLaren eShop. Dunno if that mclarenmps guy is still around but I know I've got my christmas shopping sorted!

Oh yes, there's nothing wrong with them if they're on a Commodore VS, however on a F1 car...

They have no more monies and tyres are expensive to make. Especially now that they have 4 compounds + 2 race compounds (supersoft, soft, medium, hard, intermediate, full wet)

Toyota has confirmed that it is pulling out of Formula 1 racing after posting its worst ever financial loss.

And that as a young person frightens me..I see Clarkson and the boys having the time of their lives in cars...I want to do that one day..like them..but that film just made me think..what if...that never happens to me..?
