Car: 1971 Chevrolet Corvette, 1986 Monte Carlo SS Rep Power: 0 ![]() ![]() ![]() | According to The Truth About Cars, Dan Neil has been released from his contract with NBC, and will not be one of the presenters on Gear. The same article names Tanner Faust as being involved with the show. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/us-...-nbc-contract/ |

Car: 1971 Chevrolet Corvette, 1986 Monte Carlo SS Rep Power: 0 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sorry, the correct spelling is Tanner Foust. The guy is a Rally and drift driver, and has done some TV work including Supercars Exposed on Speed. http://www.tannerfoust.com/

| Aw man. I was hoping he'd at least stay on as a writer if he wasn't going to present. | |

Car: AP2 S2000 Rep Power: 10 ![]() | I like Tanner. I would prefer him than some fake, attention whore. Honestly, if they had Tanner Foust, Townsend Bell and Adam Corolla, I'd have not problem with that lineup. |

| Square with a title | OT I know but I just read the news section tht talks about how they are only going to talk about cars they really love. Thats awful. The only point of those segments is to ogle at cars and even then Jeremy and the lot find SOMETHING wrong them. Since there aren't really any American cars worth trouser wetting I suspect they'll be doing quite a few euro exotica. problem is I owuld have probably already seen it on original top gear and wouldn't be as interested the second time around. They'd better jam pack this show full of crazy awesome stunts and challenges.

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I was optimistic at first, but with every new detail unveiled that optimism dies a little more. Especially with this news. 1. The quote about only reviewing cars they love? WTF? There are many memorable moments that are cars the hosts love, but equally as many when they have a car the hosts hate/dislike etc. Have you ever watched a car show where they constanty say, yes, I love this car, the handling is good the acceleration is good and it looks good. Yea, it might not be so bad for a little while but hearing that over and over every episode is boring. I hope it wasn't stated in all seriousness because if it was it is a total copout to the original Top Gear. 2. Tanner Foust. I actually randomly caught the "SuperCars exposed" show he hosts on Speed. It was awful. He tried to act cool and in combination with the poor production it came off way too corny. I couldn't watch it, all he did was take a Mercedes to a drag strip and race it with some chick he picked up riding shotgun. I promptly switched the channel. That said, I'm really curious if my bad feelings are going to play out. Maybe I'll be pleasantly suprised... |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I'm not sure about Tanner Foust, when i first saw heard him in that video i thought maybe theyve found there Hammond. However after watching more his energy feels very forced. He's not as funny or cool as Hammond, not even close. But he seems to know his craft and I'd watch him on the show. I won't however watch this show if its nothing but goofy stunts. Thats the part of Top Gear i like least, the stupid 3 amigos trips where they just wreck stuff and make a hash out of whatever there attempting. I want them to focus on the road tests, advertisers be damned. I want funny witty reviews of great cars, good cars and bad cars. Making cars come alive and making the viewer feel like hes expirienced what these machines are like is what makes Top Gear great. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | i registered just to give my vote of confidence to Tanner Foust, I think he will a great addition since he is an actual driver. Any guy who rallys is ok with me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I predict a cooler version of Jason Plato. |

| that clip is the first time that I've seen Tanner and he seemed to come across OK, and clearly loves driving. Not sure if that will translate directly to a love of cars though but it would be close. I don't think I'd have a problem with him fronting up every week to drive a car. | |

| is awesome! | Oh ffs, the guy from SPEED's horrible supercar show? I'm just gonna walk away now before I get myself banned, because this guy is horrible and his level of suck brings out the worst in me.

I don't know maybe I'm being too harsh, maybe with some good writing and producing Foust will come across better. But for now, he sucks. | |

| ^ will bore you to death | I just watched that clip posted earlier, I still feel he is boring. Hell he managed to make a show about supercars boring, that is a level of boring beyond that of what most of the British could ever hope to accomplish. I'm starting to wonder if they are infact modeling the show after Fifth Gear and not Top Gear if this news is true. Racing drivers SUCK as hosts. Tiff is the best, and he's still pretty damn bad. I can't watch that "Test Drive" show on speed, the personality of the host(s) lack, and they are so uncomfortable on camera I feel like I'm back in the 10th grade. |

Car: 2000 Mustang Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Tanner Foust is just a good drifter. He is a good driver and all, but he is not much funny guy. So I really do not think he is fit for Gear. He is really a nice guy and thats about it.... |
