I guess I've been pwned. images/smilies/smile.gif At the risk of sounding whiny and making excuses - I did just come back from uni when I wrote that and I was tired.. But nevermind, don't want to go off topic.

Anyway, yes, the Koenigsegg CC-R does have the McLaren F1 beat in most categories, except the number of seats. Still, however, I think the Koenigsegg is the better car.

Normal cars probably won't take the vibration kindly. But McF1 being a supercar, it's very acceptable.

BTW, WRX is 21st. Hehehe

Think you'll find its the other way around if anything. A good ol' Datsun 120Y will run forever with bone shaking vibrations... but you get any of this uber sports cars of today and add the same vibrations to them... You better know a good engine rebuilder.

Exactly! Price has nothing to do with how good a car is.

The McLaren F1 is more than just a supercar. It also took every day usability and road comfort into consideration. Even though it's not as good on the track as some other hardcore car, the F1 does everything very well. Hence, it's #1.

For a race track, there's other cars I'd rather prefer but if I can only have on car for the rest of my life the F1 is the best!

But what am I talking about? I can't even afford a down payment for one! Let alone a brake rebuild for a car like that!

the point is, that F1 has the unbeatable performance WITHOUT needing any turbos or supercharger...
that's more of an engineering achievment then just strapping huge turbos to an existing engine

and 800hp is nice, but what they don't tell you is that the engine will fall to pieces after 10k kilometres...

Hmm...you know, it'd be interesting if we had a Final Gear top 100 automobiles. Have everyone send in their favorite 10 or so cars, and gauge them all by how many votes they get. Or something like that.

I suppose so ... but then I am not talking about rattles as such. More like the F50 type rattle. Too performance orientated to forgo NVH.

Suppose it's a similar reason to why Clarkson prefer the F40 to the Enzo. Enzo is a easier to drive and to live with. But the F40 is much more raw. And so is the McF1 ...

Doesn't matter I suppose. As someone said before, these are cars most of us will never own. Heh ...

Oh well ...

But I agree we should do something like this; Top 10 cars of FinalGear ... images/smilies/smile.gif

Well, seeing as I've done this list - I'll do the other one too if you like. If everyone simply PMs me a list of 10 cars I'll add them to an excel spreadsheet and tally it all up similar to how Ren does the photoshopping votes. I'll then do as I have here, and post daily the results in 10s in a month's time. Sound good?

If you all agree to this then I'll sort out a section of the forums with Viper, or something similar to announce it images/smilies/smile.gif

That sounds like it'll work, Overheat. That's actually how I was thinking it should be done (everyone PMs their top 10 cars and sort it out that way).

Will you count it as simple votes, or will we have cars with 1, 2 and 3 points?
