I like it, but far to expensive to make me actually want one.

I just think for the same money I could get something much better, or I could get the already fast 3.0L and save a huge pile of cash.

It is like the 130i, too expensive for the little extra you get. You are mainly just paying for all those little M badges.

AUS $128,000 for the base, which still has a lot of options on the list which I would really want standard...like cruise control, alarm etc.

Considering a full spec 3.0L is around $108,000 and is already quite fast, plus later this year they will be replacing the current engines and releasing the 3.0si and the 2.5si.

But thinking about it, the price is about the same as a Porsche Boxster S, and this is something special, not just another Boxster.

Still a very nice and desirable car but I find myself leaning towards a Boxter for that money if I want a performance car or SLK280 for luxury.
