I think the third one was miles better than the first two, but all 3 are pretty poor...

Whats more, i heard a rumor a few months ago that the next one will be muscle-car-centric, drag racing and what-not. I even heard of the Buick Regal GNX making an appearance images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The 1st was OK
The 2nd was good
The 3rd was horrific - one of the worst films I've ever seen...

...and the same producer/director is being used for the 4th so that can't be good.

Its been a while since I saw the 3rd but I still want to kill the main character of it as much as I ever did!

How can anyone say that the 3rd one was better than the first?

1st: 7/10
2nd: 5/10
3rd: 3/10

1st Movie: SR Swap into a Civic?? Dom, an experienced street racer and pro in working cars, can't even get Granny Shifting and Double-Clutching right?? (Hint: Double Clutching only is done exclusively now on Trucks.) And since when did an RX-7 have Pistons??

2nd Movie: Oh don't get me started.

3rd Movie: Gaijin BS. They should've put Neela as the lead, fuck Sean and Twinkie.

I don't see how anyone could think #2 was better than any movie on the planet. Must I remind you of the first race of cars jumping off of bridges, and piers onto boats? The excessive use of the word "BRUH!" And doing 70mph on the freeway in reverse in a LHD converted evo 7 that don't exist in the states. Lets not forget how he came to own that GT-R found it rusting away in a back lot in Texas... yeah.

At least 3 had plausible driving scenes, and the main characters smart ass remarks to the cops along with his first drive in the Silvia were actually quite funny. #1 was entertaining from a "lets make fun of it" standpoint.

Watch it again, the animation is of the RX7 (Dom's) with 3 rotors and a turbo. Double clutch is also used by some who think it will make them go faster. While accelerating in gear you smash the clutch a couple of times. Some people make them think they go faster because the revs climb for a moment, and just shock the driveline.

The more absurd part is that he drives a "10 second car" as a daily driver but a Charger that runs" nine nines in the 1/4 mile" "scares the shit out of me"...

I just realized I know entirely way to much about the series. But damn did I get my enjoyment out of making fun of it.

I found the third the best because it was the least pretentious. It wasn't set in America so for the most part it avoided a lot of cliches and avoided taking itself quite as seriously as the first two. Aside from the green VW hulk van, which was obviously bad on purpose as a joke, all the cars were cool. There were no "ironing board spoilers" or "neons" like everyone keeps bringing up. Have half of you not seen movie or what?

Considering you say only truckers double-clutch you obviously don't know what you're talking about yourself.

Go hang out with some drag/street racers (some of which have no idea WTF they are doing) for a while. Trust me, it's a legitimate technique that doesn't work for shit. Which is why it's still funny, all it does is eat up parts.

I don't think F&F3 wasn't that bad taking into consideration I hate tuned up cars and all that stuff. I think the Japanese setting gave a little boost to the movie.

Anyways do you really think that they could make anything worse than Redline???

At this moment I would like to say that I am proud that I have never seen any Fast and Furious movie. Never saw the 2nd and 3rd ones, and I've only seen bits and pieces of the first one.

That's right, I've never sat down in front of a TV long enough to witness one of these movies in their entirety. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

"Oh hey, so you like cars, huh? Ever see The Fast and the Furious?"

Double clutching makes changes quite a bit smoother even in modern synchro cars. And it sounds and feels cooler too
