Default 600 bhp per ton - Radical, literally speaking : the SR8

After the SR3, SR3 Turbo (which still holds the Nurbürgring record BTW) and SR4, Radical is at it again at making THE trackday car: the SR8.

Lightweight as usual : just 600 kg. Bah. Usual stuff when it comes to such cars:

http://www.radicalextremesportscars.com/news_folder/v8/rpa_v8/images/sr8.jpg

Well they do love the Hayabusa engine at Radical since their engineering team took it again at the base. After increasing the bore to deliver 1500 cc and adding a turbo (in the SR3 Turbo), they decided to take two of them and put them together on a single, flat plane (of course) crankshaft. So, that makes a 2.6 liter V8 which delivers an astonishing 363 bhp at... 10300 rpm. That's 140 bhp per litre! And 605 bhp per ton...

All info is here:

Maybe, but on a track it will put anything to shame, and that's what matters to me images/smilies/twisted.gif

No need for an Enzo for ultimate track performance, the British have that for 20 times less the money - and it's road legal! At least in the UK and as long as you order front and rear lights images/smilies/wink.gif

If I had $200k to spend on cars, I'd rather have a station wagon plus trailer to carry that beast to a track rather than any other car... Because no car for that amount of money can even dream of following that images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

What's the point in having a supercar if everyone winces when it passes! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Not everything is about laptimes, I'd rather have a nice comfortable sportcar (Monaro) than a go-kart. An with the other 170k I'd buy a nice house

^agree

the least you should be getting from a car is:
-a roof
-doors (at least 2, pref 4)
-an interior
-a radio

which ones does the radical have?

none images/smilies/vampire.gif

You're bunch of snobs images/smilies/smile.gif
Go-Karing rules, Radical rules for same reason. It has adrenaline written on it, why would you need radio, doors, roof or interior at the track? My favorite of those british trackday racers is probably Ariel Atom. Of course I never driven any of them, so I'm juging entirely on looks, and Atom is basicly a grown-up kart, that's why I like it images/smilies/smile.gif

Go karting is amazing, and track days as great. Too bad the track day culture isn't here and the roads in general suck. I would love to go around a track in this beast in go kart clothing.

Well, the RX-7 is kind of an investment. If you keep it up in good shape it might well be worth every penny/cent you put in it if ever you decide to sell it one day images/smilies/wink.gif
