Our closest answer to Jeremy Clarkson (next to John Philips III of Car and Driver, and Erza Dyer of Automobile Magazine - hey, there's three of 'em, how about US Top Gear then?), and another reason why he won a Pulitzer. Bravo.

Excellent read.
Now if I sell my house and live in the car, I think I can buy one.

John Phillips, man- his New Zealand journey had me on the floor for days. I don't know why, it just stuck a chord with me. It's the second oldest C/D I still have.
Even though Top Gear soured me on magazines like C/D in general, I still have a huge amount of respect for J.P... someone has said its almost as if he belongs in a different magazine. |

Oh, and if you thought the NZ article was funny (which it was), his trip to Iceland in a Toyota Land Cruiser is sheer genius.
