Default Another reason why buying a $30k Civic isn't the greatest idea

Brand new 2008 Honda Civic Mugen Si stripped while still on the dealer lot.

My friend discovered this the other day at work :meek:

There is easily over $10,000 in damage! they cut the front seat belts to get the Factory SI seats out and cut the harness that connects the seats to the car.

I am so sick and tired of thieves doing shit like this! This car belongs to NO ONE and still it got hit! How stupid is this there is no way they can use the parts or sell them as they will be noticed and I know for a fact you can not buy the Mugen parts off the self at a Honda dealer because Honda and Mugen will not sell the parts unless you have the proof that you own a 2008 Honda Civic Mugen SI!
I'm not going to say I told you so, but... I told you so. images/smilies/lol.gif

1) Thieves....obivously for being retarded (could be the guys from that GM dealer across the street?)

2) Car dealer....why the hell don't they keep such a valuable car indoors?

It's not really the owner's fault though, if he bought a $30 EVO or STi instead the fucking thieves will probably do the same thing.

These thieves were obviously upper/middle class, look at what the car is sitting on...jack stands!! This wasn't a "left on blocks" thing, these guys are pros images/smilies/biggrin.gif

It'd be quite the decent combo of daily driver and track car; I've thought about it in that context although now (having driven one) I really really really really really need an Ariel Atom.

Wait a second, considering that this car has parts that ACTUALLY make it go faster, is it still a ricer?

How is a Mugen Si a ricer. It is a factory car with no silly body kits and the wing is definitively acceptable.

Not in my opinion. As far as I know this is a special edition track car.

$30,000 for a CIVIC??? FOr that money you can buy a used EVO or STi, new Mustang GT and have a hell of a lot more fun.

Seriously, the only way I would pay that much money for a performance FWD car is on a MazdaSpeed 3.

Also, my annoyance with the price aside, that is a pretty shitty thing to have happen.

EDIT: Maybe this was in Canada?
