Seriously, the only way I would pay that much money for a performance FWD car is on a MazdaSpeed 3.

Also, my annoyance with the price aside, that is a pretty shitty thing to have happen.

EDIT: Maybe this was in Canada?
It's still $30K USD. The normal Si with a nav system and some other options can go for $27K! 10% more cash for something that's probably a lot better to drive isn't totally ridiculous.

Still, waaay too overpriced. This is going into BMW thinking, that you are buying it for the badge, and no current Civic can perform like the Si's and Type R's from the 1990's, those were just phenomenal. The current KA engines just do not have the soul of the B16A, and the suspension on the current Civic is just...ordinary, not amazing and revolutionary like the Civics of old.

It is kind of like comparing a Mark I Golf GTI vs. a current GTI, see what I mean?

Yea you can spec a GTI out to over $30K, and that doesn't even get you leather seating!

Well don't come to Canada, because a MkV GTI with DSG and leather is almost $37,000 here.

I think he meant that the people who stole the parts were ricers.

I've been posting after nearly every response, I'm leaving my dorm now!

Poor car...

It's a limited edition car out of 300 so it has some value...Plus it is supposed to go around faster on a track...$30,000 for a special Civic dunno but it is rare..

You guys keep dwelling on the price... those pictures are in Canada. If an averagely-optioned GTI is $35 grand here, then a limited edition Civic Si with all those added things makes sense at $30 grand.

Still, I wouldn't buy it. images/smilies/lol.gif

^me too... but I understand why the parts were stolen. The Rims alone are worth about 2k I believe without tyres, the exhaust system was a about 1k, and the rest of the stuff like the seats, bodyparts... etc would have easily cost another 5k.

devil... I think there's going to be 1000 Mugen Civics, but they are still quite rare.

yeah if you put TVs all over the interior images/smilies/rolleyes.gif, I remember pricing up options on a GTi, they may not realistically sell for the sticker, but theres no real reason you need to make it a 30k car

(1) Not to be too defensive, but having ridden in both generations extensively, the current GTis balance of comfort and thrills atleast works, i think the MKIV GTi is a much much much much much better example. That car is honestly a soggy mess.

(2)STI? EVO?? More like a 90s NSX or Dodge Viper, 30k is a good sum of money!

Also I personally think a mugen civic is going to hold its value even better than a golf (which already has excellent resale)

If I was in the market for a fast daily/hatch etc.......a Civic of any kind would not be on the list. Although I would still drive it and it might blow my mind.

agreed... any car that has a limited production run would hold value well

I somehow have a feeling that all the negative stuff is just because its a Civic (Which for some reason, any car with a Civic badge is classified Rice), if this was done to a Mazdaspeed 2.3l 3 (not the MPS) or something like an Astra, you'll probably go ZOMG! WHY? It's such a great car
